(A/n): I HOPE YOU ENJOY! (Let me know PLEASE if there are spelling mistakes or anything... sometimes in the past my Wattpad would glitch and post the unfinished chapter even tho I saved the changes I made... Idk.)
(Your POV)
A lot seemed to be changing ever since my uncle and friends came back. I could only care about certain things, like my uncle's complete change of direction. Everything seemed to be going smoothly until he started talking about some 'guardian watchers'?
"I never meant to disregard your opinions like that! Not in that way," he had said to me long after I received the sweet gift from Tintin and Captain. I had showered and changed into a new dress by now since it was the evening. "I'm sorry for my hostility. I only want you to be safe, and I worry about the effects of losing more relations... especially after your mother."
I felt a sting from the mention of mom, and that made me frown a little sadly. Uncle noticed me, and lifted my chin up with his gentle, white-gloved hand. I melted slightly at his comforting touch.
"Ohhhh, my doll..." he cooed sympathetically, softening his face at mine. "Let's forget about such things for now... it's only a short time before we arrive and," he hreathed in, pulling his monocle away to wipe it on his tuxedo, "find out what she had left at home for you. After all, she was just as amped about this as you are today! Her and Tiberius were very, very close, you know!"
My saddened pout became lighter, and my eyebrows curved inward with nostalgia. Then Uncle Isaac caressed my left cheek with a bent finger, which made me smile.
"As was I..." he said.
After this, he went away.
Watching him go, I slowed my breathing with a small sigh to relax. I got out my gift from my dress pocket and silently fawned. Listening to the harmony in the breeze, I recognized myself in the cabin window directly next to me. My reflection was perfectly clear in the tinted windows so, calmly, I removed the tiara-shaped pin from the box and placed it between my teeth. Easily, I pulled most of my hair up in a make-shift updo, unsure how I should style it. I puffed, fluffed, and adjusted the hair frays- if there were any- until I was moderately satisfied with my look. I rotated my body front and back, watching my skirt swing and comparing it to my hair indecisively. I think then was when I decided it was my favorite pair of shoes and dress so far, and I would totally wear it more often after.
It was kinda interesting, to be honest, thinking how much has changed since I had been home cooking dinner by myself after an exhausting shift at the diner. I feel like I had waken up a different, stronger part of me that I didn't realize was in my character. I guess trauma probably can do that to someone.
Aha-
I stared at myself for a while before recognizing the scar on my cheek from the helicopter crash. I stopped swaying, releasing my hair and reaching to touch it, reminded of the horrible private island. To be fair, if it weren't for the whole- you know- hailstorm, crash, and human trafficking scandal at the black market, it might've been a better memory for me. What I mean is, the night time, in particular. That starry night sky was the most beautiful moment I had ever laid eyes on... and Tintin's kindness towards me made me realize how important his friendship truly was to me.
Nothing has compared to that moment, since. I don't know if there ever will be.
I heard small footsteps and saw Snowy. He was by himself, and I guess he had come all the way from wherever Tintin must've been to see me. He wagged his tail contently with big puppy eyes, and I chuckled at him.
"Hi, Buddy!" I cooed to him, spinning my back to the window and sitting down beside him. I hummed quietly to myself as I stroked his back. "What are your thoughts about the chamber, Snow? I'd like the feedback..."
