AUTHOR'S POV

Days bled into nights within the opulent confines of William's mansion, yet for David, time seemed to stagnate, each passing moment amplifying the knot of conflicting emotions that tightened in his chest.

A sense of unease had taken root, its tendrils wrapping around his thoughts, a constant hum of disquiet beneath the surface of his days.

Initially, a fragile bud of hope had bloomed at the thought of Kevin's promise . Was Mr. Walton silence a sign of continued approval to his decision? Had Kevin's defiance his father as he promised? The questions swirled in his mind, breeding anxiety.

Yet, interwoven with this apprehension was a warmth that spread through him whenever he recalled Kevin's unwavering stance.

Kevin refusal to force him into a marriage he didn't desire, his willingness to stand against his own father for his sake - it was a revelation that painted him in a new light. The memory of his quiet strength, the resolute glint in his eyes, offered a small measure of solace amidst his worries. Kevin had chosen him, and that knowledge was a precious balm to his troubled spirit.

However, this fragile peace was constantly shattered by a sharp, insistent pang of something akin to anger, tinged with a bewildering sense of longing.

Days had passed since their dramatic departure from the Walton mansion, days filled with the hushed whispers and concerned glances of William's household, yet Kevin had remained conspicuously absent.

No visits, no messages, no sign that he even remembered his existence.

A confusing ache bloomed within him. Why did he care? He was the one who had initially rejected kevin, recoiling from the idea of a forced bond. But the revelation of their true nature, the undeniable pull of their connection as mates, had irrevocably altered the landscape of his feelings.

Now, Kevin silence felt like a void, a stark contrast to the fierce protectiveness he had displayed in front of Mr Walton. Had his bravery been a fleeting impulse? Had the consequences of his actions against his family severed any desire to pursue him?

Adding to his emotional turmoil was a persistent physical unease that had begun to plague him. A queasy feeling often rose within him, culminating in bouts of morning sickness that left him weak and drained. He initially dismissed it as a reaction to the stress and upheaval of recent events, the lingering effects of the tense atmosphere.

It was during a quiet conversation with Chris, David's ever-observant and gently supportive best friend, that a new possibility was raised, one that sent a shiver of both fear and a strange, hesitant anticipation down his spine.

Noticing his pallor and listening to his complaints, Chris had suggested, his voice soft with concern.

"David, have you considered... have you considered taking a pregnancy test? These symptoms... they can sometimes indicate..." But he denied to Chris.

The words hung in the air after Chris leaves , heavy with unspoken implications. The thought had flickered at the edges of his awareness, a fleeting shadow he had instinctively dismissed. But spoken aloud, it took on a terrifying reality.

Hesitantly, with trembling hands, he procured a test. The wait for the result felt like an eternity, each passing minute amplifying the frantic beat of his heart. When the two faint lines appeared, confirming Chris's suspicion, a wave of pure, unadulterated fear washed over him, threatening to drown him in its icy depths.

Pregnant. At fifteen. With Kevin, who was barely sixteenth himself. The enormity of the situation crashed down upon him, suffocating him with its weight. Could he handle this? Could they handle this?

They were barely adults, their own futures uncertain and now irrevocably intertwined with the life growing within him. The carefree days of his youth suddenly felt like a distant memory, replaced by the daunting responsibility of motherhood.

The fear was all-consuming, a cold fist clenching around his heart. How would his family react? Mr. Walton? And Kevin... if he even cared, how would he respond to this unexpected turn of events? The image of him, distant and silent, fueled his anxiety.

Overwhelmed by the sheer magnitude of his situation, the precariousness of his age, and the crushing weight of Kevin's continued absence, David could no longer hold back the rising tide of his despair. Tears welled in his eyes, hot and stinging, and spilled down his cheeks.

The sobs that wracked his body were deep and wrenching, each one a testament to his fear, his confusion, and his profound sense of being utterly alone. The emotional turmoil only exacerbated his already fragile physical state, leaving him weak and trembling, a small, solitary figure adrift in a sea of uncertainty within the grand, indifferent walls of William's mansion.

The fragile hope he had clung to just days ago now lay shattered, replaced by the stark reality of his youth, his pregnancy, and the deafening silence of the one person who should, perhaps, be by his side.
