AUTHOR'S POV

The soft morning light filtered through the curtains of their bedroom, painting the room in hues of gold and cream. Kevin stretched, a contented sigh escaping his lips as he remembered the whirlwind of yesterday. David and he were finally married. The ceremony, the reception, the joy on our parents' faces – it all felt like a beautiful dream. Now, the dream was continuing, morphing into a new adventure: their honeymoon to Paris.

David lay on his side, his face relaxed, his blonde hair spread across the pillow like a silken fan. He watched him for a long moment, his heart swelling with a love that felt both familiar and brand new.

He remembered the previous night, the quiet intimacy, the overwhelming sense of peace that had enveloped them. He had almost forgotten about the necklace, the carefully chosen gift he had intended to give him. The velvet box, still clutched in his hand, felt like a tangible reminder of his intentions.

He carefully extracted his hand from beneath hers, his movements slow and deliberate, not wanting to disturb her. He sat up, leaning against the headboard, and opened the box. The necklace lay nestled within, a delicate piece of art that shimmered in the morning light.

It was a delicate chain of interwoven silver and gold, symbolizing the blending of their lives, their families, their destinies. At its center hung a pendant, a teardrop-shaped piece of moonstone, its surface swirling with iridescent colors that seemed to shift and change with the light. He had chosen it because it reminded him of David – his beauty, his strength, his ever-changing moods, and the radiant light he brought into his life.

He held the necklace in his hand, admiring its beauty, feeling the weight of its symbolism. He knew that it was more than just a piece of jewelry; it was a tangible representation of his love, his commitment, and his promise to cherish him always.

David stirred, his eyes fluttering open. He blinked, adjusting to the light, and turned his head to face Kevin. A soft smile graced his lips as he took in the sight of him sitting up in bed, the necklace box in his hand.

"Good morning," he murmured, his voice still husky with sleep. "Good morning, my husband," Kevin replied, his voice filled with warmth and David blushed as how he called him.

He held out the box towards him. "I have something for you," he said, his expression tender. David sat up, his eyes widening with curiosity and delight. He took the box from him, his fingers trembling slightly as he opened it. The sight of the necklace took her breath away.

"Oh, Kevin," he whispered, his voice filled with awe. "It's… it's beautiful."
He lifted the necklace from the box, his fingers tracing the delicate chain and the shimmering pendant. The moonstone seemed to glow in his hand, reflecting the light in a thousand different hues.

"It's for you," Kevin said, his gaze fixed on him. "A symbol of us. Of our journey. Of our forever."

He reached out and took the necklace from him, his touch gentle and reverent. He moved behind the younger, his hands brushing against his neck as he fastened the clasp. The cool metal of the necklace rested against the younger skin, a tangible reminder of his presence, his love.
