Apparently the three Chaos members due to arrive the following afternoon had made it back early. At least I assumed that the two strangers seated with Carson and Argus at a table in the cafeteria the next morning were these guild members. I resisted the urge to use <Honesty> on them and find out for sure. If it weren't for the fact that it let me learn things I really did not want to know, it may have been a really addictive skill. Even just knowing a person's name could be pretty useful. Such a shame...
"Who are they?" Yejun yawned. For once he had followed me down for breakfast. Normally he would be up early and into his lab well before I dragged my sorry butt out of bed.
"I assume either Kuro, Bryce, or Nick." I said, following Yejun past crowded tables where other guild members were staring out their days.
Most of the chaos guild did not live within the building like Yejun and I, but they still liked coming to the cafeteria for a meal, a coffee, or just to catch up with members assigned to other teams. For such a new guild, I was constantly surprised at just how busy and well run the thing was.
As for the three men due to arrive today, I could only assume that of them, the two seated with Carson must have been Bryce and Nick. Though, that was just an assumption based on the twins descriptions the day before. None of the men currently present looked like an edgy magical swordsmen who inspired fear in others.
One man was as tall as Argus- or nearly so- but not nearly as overly built. Not to say he was a twig by any means. Even under his causal clothes I could see that he was no stranger to the guild's training room, much like most of the other members. He sat at the the table next to Carson, looking totally comfortable in his skin. He had sandy blonde hair above cold grey eyes, set into a chiseled face. If I had to pick a word for the way he looked 'rich' would sum it up quite well.
The other man was basically the exact opposite. Though he seemed just as comfortable as the other man, he almost seemed too comfortable. The way he sat there reminded me of an ex that shows up at your house randomly and tries to make it clear just how comfortable he is in your apartment in front of your new boyfriend. It was a cocky, brazen, and confrontational stance, like he not only expected to be in a fight, but welcomed it.
He was taller than the average man, but short compared to the majority of men I had seen in this guild so far. He had messy brown- nearly ginger- hair and light brown eyes. I wouldn't call him classically handsome, but he definitely wasn't ugly by any means, and he seemed perfectly comfortable with his 'bad boy' allure either.
"I see Alex, I'm gonna go eat with him." Yejun said, pointing several tables down where I saw the young mage seated, a book open in front of him and a steaming mug of coffee loosely held in his left hand.
My lips twitched into a slight smile. "Alright." They both would be returning to school tomorrow. Given they were enrolled in different departments, I doubted they would see one another too much. It hadn't been lost on me that they had been spending time together. Honestly, it wasn't even a suspicious amount of time... if you didn't consider the fact that Yejun rarely went out of his way to talk with anyone.
my brother hurried off to get a plate of eggs and bacon and I made my way toward the three men. Normally I ate with Yejun when I could, but I figured he would appreciate the space right now. Besides, i was curious about the new faces.
"Morning Lucky Charm!" Called a voice directly behind me. Before I could spin around and tell Greyson off for that damn nickname again, both twins slung beefy arms around my shoulders and started walking me toward the table.
"Seems the errant guild-ies have returned safe an sound." Chuckled Erick, deftly ignoring my glare.
"What have we here?" The roguish man asked as I was frog matched up to their table. He was seated at the head and perked right up when he saw me. He flashed what I am sure he believed was an award winning smile, brown eyes lit up like I was the first woman he had seen in his life.
