It took another two days for Carson to finally get a five-star instance for the Chaos guild to enter. Between the competition, and the fact that such high leveled instances were not exactly common, I supposed I shouldn't have been surprised that it took so long. But now we were dangerously close to <Broken> spitting out a new skill to mess up my life again. I could only hope that something as crazy as <Summon Greater Dragon> didn't pop up again.
The last thing we needed in the middle of a five-star instance was something worse than a freaking half-dead giant appearing... Maybe a perfectly healthy giant? Heck, maybe even a damn dragon. Now that the mysterious <Summon Greater Dragon> skill had all but confirmed that dragons did- indeed- exist, I had been in a constant state of anxiety that I just might cause one to manifest at some point.
As it was, I supposed we would all just have to cross our fingers and pray that it didn't happen. Not that all of us were as fearful of a dragon suddenly making its appearance. I was quite sure that the twins would relish the chance at fighting one. Not to mention Argus... Why was I in a guild of crazies again? Oh, right... I fit in here... Shoot.
Despite the longer than desired wait for an instance, Carson and the guild pencil-pushers had not been idle. In the interim, they had managed to finalize the merger between Chaos and the Knox guild, which I had been hearing rumors of since joining Chaos. The guild had grown by quite a bit, and we now had the use of very skilled instance collection specialists. Finally we wouldn't be criticized by the media and public for leaving so much materials in the instances we cleared.
I was sure that both Faust, and the nervous guild accountant, would be pleased. Well, maybe not Faust. I'm pretty sure she wouldn't really care, other than poor money management being a source of irritation for her.
Though I had seen major raids on T.V before, this had been the first time that I was a part of one. Currently we members of the main strike force, the former leader of Knox- now the leader to the Collections Branch of the Chaos guild- and several of his people, Yejun and a couple fellow appraisers, and an association over-seer, were currently bunched up in a quickly put together tent. We were in the middle of the briefing for this raid, while outside the media was clambering about, trying to get information from anyone who dared get too close to the press line.
Yejun was not going into the instance. I made double sure of that. I didn't give a shit that he felt like pointing out that out of the two of us, he was the one with Tower experience. Even if he had said it to be funny and lower my anxiety, I still gave him a dirty look. I didn't even want my brother this close to an open instance, much less inside one. Especially since <Broken> could act up at any time. I could think of nothing more unlucky for me then for my brother to get hurt.
He and the other appraisers were to stay outside the instance, in this very tent as a matter of fact. They would be looking over the items and materials coming out of the instance, evaluating their worth and purpose. There would be no need for them to enter at all, and I was glad for that.
"-How thorough was the Association's inspection of the instance? I know you've said that it's an arctic climate, but what kind of topography are we looking at? Flora or fauna?" Asked collection's leader himself- also called Knox.
According to <Honesty>- which I have become very accustom to using these days- he was a level 67 raider with no attribute, who also happens to enjoy paint-by-numbers. I wasn't sure why that would be considered embarrassing, but perhaps <Honesty> reveals what a person thinks is embarrassing about themselves. I guess a forty-something-year-old man with a short scruffy beard and an eye patch doesn't exactly seem the type, but to each their own I say.
