It was about two weeks after Kendra had told Massie about moving, but Massie had hardly bothered packing up or helping Kendra. All she did was enjoy her time with her friends, the Pretty Committee. She tried hard not to think about how she will miss them when she moved. I should just enjoy my time with them, right? Massie thought as she dressed Bean, her cute, black pug. Massie looked in the mirror and checked out her outfit. She was wearing a pair of white seven jeans, a white cashmere short sleeved shirt, white manicured nails , clear gloss, and a white Hermès scarf tied fashionably around her waist. Massie completed the look with a simple silver heart necklace, a white Prada
Bag, and her signature charm bracelet. She also wore white Jimmy Choo wedges. Massie checked herself out in the mirror. "Perf, let's go Bean," Massie smiled at her pug. Bean walked along side Massie, wearing a similar outfit. Massie even had a white leash for Bean! She waited for Isaac to pick up the girls from their homes. There was Alicia, who had an amazing tan and was wearing Ralph Lauren. Then there was Dylan with fiery hair, a big appetite, and a style for Juicy Couture. Then came Kristen who was sporty, smart, and was wearing mostly H&M and hand me downs from the girls. "Hey guys," Massie winked at the girls," let's rate each other!"
"As always," Alicia agreed. "Ok, first up is Dylan! She is totally rocking those black Juicy pants, her forest green blouse brings out the red hair, so, I give her an 8.3!" Massie declared. Dylan smiled, happy with her score. "Alicia is next and she is totally rocking that navy Ralph Lauren blazer with the white blouse beneath, the black dress pants, and the scarf, so I give her...an 8.7!" Massie announced. Alicia grinned widely. "Thanks Mass," Alicia gushed happily. "Last but not least comes Kristen. She is wearing a yellow ruffled tank top with gray, sporty, yet cute shorts. Also, the black boots are killing it! I give Kristen an 8.4!" Massie nodded approvingly, "what about me?"
"We love the jeans, the nails, and the accessories but we gotta say, the scarf tops it all!" The girls decided," we say.....10!" "Thanks," Massie smiled. The four girls linked arms and walked out of the Range Rover. "Bye Isaac," Massie waved. She held Bean's leash tight in her hand, as the girls descended upon the mall. In case you didn't know, it was in the middle of summer break and the Pretty Committee were going shopping for more clothes. Massie rushed into the Chanel store and looked for her signature scent, Chanel no.19. Just as Massie's fingers were about to close on the perfume bottle, her phone began to buzz from her Prada bag. "Give me a min," Massie said, holding up a finger. She rushed out of the store and answered the call. "Massie, honey, I need to tell you something important," a voice said from the other line. "Mom?" Massie gulped, then quickly straightened up, her alpha instincts kicking in. "Yes, honey I believe you are in the mall, correct?" Kendra asked. "Yeah, obviously," Massie rolled her eyes. "Well, honey, I don't want you spending a lot of money. We need enough money to fly to our new mansion," Kendra warned. "Fine mom," Massie quickly shut off the phone. "Ugh!" Massie groaned. She walked into the store to see her friends looking at her. "What?!" Massie snapped. "Nothing," Alicia looked away. "Hey Massie , what happened to your perfume?" Kristen asked. "Um, I don't wanna buy anything today.... Because... Uh...I wanted to help you guys look good too!" Massie lied. "How nice of you!" Dylan chirped. "Let's go girls," Massie said, but she wasn't so sure that she wanted to shop anymore. She didn't see the point of being at the mall but not being able to shop.
• Three hours later•
Massie walked into her room, frowning. Just then, Kendra entered the room. "Massie honey, why don't you pack up?" Kendra asked. "Ok, fine," Massie grumbled. She was in a bad mood. Especially because her friends were one step ahead on the latest fashions. "Alright, call if you need me," Kendra smiled, before walking out. Massie frowned at her wardrobe. "We've got a job to do, right Bean?" Massie smiled," when a job calls, the Pretty Committee have got to help me do it!"
Massie pulled out her iPhone 5s and speed dialed all her friends. "Come to my room, ASAP," Massie said quickly, before shutting her phone off. Six minutes later, the rest of the Pretty Committee were busy helping Massie throw away, and sort through her designer clothes. "So, Mass, tell us why we are doing this," Alicia said, brows raised. Massie stiffened. "Um, I'm moving," Massie sighed. "WHAT?!" The girls shouted in disbelief. "Yeah," Massie said, blinking back the tears that were starting to form in her eyes. "Well, how come you didn't tell us?" Kristen demanded. "I..just didn't want to upset you. I also wanted to enjoy my time being with you," Massie confessed. "Sorry Mass," Dylan apologized. "You don't have to feel sorry for me," Massie rolled her amber gold and green flecked eyes. As an alpha, she hated it when people sympathied her. To Massie, the word sympathetic had the word "pathetic" in it and an alpha can not be pathetic. "So, why are you moving?" Alicia, who loved gossip and wanted to be a reporter, asked. "Oh,well my mom got offered a more higher paying job in Manhattan and that's why we are moving," Massie fibbed a little. It's not a big deal right? It's not like as if I'm lying, I'm only hiding part of the truth. For real my mom lost her job without dad supporting her and she got offered another job in New York. Close enough, right? Massie pushed the thoughts out of her mind as her friends hugged her and talked about how horrible and awesome New York might be. "Guys, I just thought of something," Massie said. She was fiddling with her charm bracelet. She only fiddled with her bracelet if something was bothering her. "What?" Alicia, Dylan, and Kristen all asked. "What about you? I mean, we were too busy talking about me, we forgot about you!" Massie realized. "Um, well, we'll still stay as friends," Alicia comforted Massie. "No, I know you will. But, you guys will need an alpha. Without one, you'll be lost!" Massie sighed. "Am I not the rightful alpha after Massie?" Alicia asked suddenly. "Yeah," Massie nodded suspiciously. What was Alicia getting at? "Then I'll be the new alpha!" Alicia squealed. "Is that true Massie?" Dylan asked, munching on Cheetos. "Yeah," Massie's voice trembled a little. "Girls, give me a second," Massie hurried into the bathroom located in her room ( her room is so big it has enough space for a big bathroom too!). Massie locked the door and leaned on it. Her heart raced. She was no longer an alpha. Alicia was. She was no longer rich in California. Only in New York. She would no longer be living in California. Only in New York. Massie's chest tightened and she grabbed the door knob. Her knuckles turned white. The thoughts raced around in her head. "Massie?" A voice penetrated Massie's thoughts. "Yeah?" She croaked. "Are you okay? You sound sick," Kristen asked, concerned. "I'm fine," Massie assured them," I'll be coming out." And just like that, Massie resumed cleaning her room with her friends. After two hours, Massie's room was empty except for her furniture and some outfits to wear until Massie reached New York. Each girl hugged Massie tight as they had to leave. Massie proudly noted that they hugged her tighter and longer than usual. When it was Alicia's turn, Massie stiffened. Come on Massie. She's your friend. Hug her nicely, Massie thought to herself. To her surprise, Alicia hugged her the tightest and said these five words: "goodbye I'll miss you forever" Massie felt guilty for not being nice to Alicia as she shut the door. Massie ran up to her room and pulled up her diary as quietly as possible (for Bean was asleep on one of Massie's bean bag chairs).
