Massie woke up to the smell of apple cinnamon waffles. She walked over to her bathroom and showered. Massie didn't know what to wear but she finally decided on a black mini skirt, a white Calvin Klein blouse paired with a black blazer, and knee-high black Marc Jacobs wedge boots. Massie also wore her signature charm bracelet and also had a white Chanel handbag that had diamonds incrusted in it. Massie also dressed Bean up before heading downstairs for breakfast. "Good morning honey, did you sleep well last night?" Kendra asked. "Yeah mom," Massie sighed. To be honest, Massie was up all night thinking about how her life was ruined. "Massie!" Kendra said. Massie snapped out of she doze and faced her mom. "I've been calling you for ten times!" Kendra exclaimed. "Sorry," Massie muttered. "Ok, I want to talk to you after breakfast," Kendra said," meet me in the living room."
"Ok," Massie said, a feeling of dread entering her stomach. She hated it when her mother asked to talk alone. Nothing good ever came out of it. The first time her mother had asked to talk, she had told Massie that they were about to move. The second time they had a "talk", Kendra told Massie that they had to save money. Now what would happen? Massie drank a glass of cold milk and ate her apple cinnamon waffles with maple syrup and whipped cream on top. Once the delicious breakfast was over, Massie trudged to the living room. "Bean, come with me. I can't deal with whatever mom has in store for me alone," Massie sighed. She found Kendra sitting on the white sofa. "Have a seat honey," Kendra said, patting the seat next to her. Massie sat and stared at her mom, hoping to find a clue on her face that would probably tell her what this would be about. No luck. Her mother's face showed no emotion. "Massie honey, I'm afraid we have a little problem with the new estate," Kendra began. Massie noted that her mother kept glancing at Bean every now and then. "What is it?" Massie asked, nervously re-glossing her lips with her Glossipgirl lip gloss (in case you wanted to know, the flavor was red ravishing cinnamon). "Honey, the estate doesn't accept.....dogs," Kendra confessed. Massie gasped. "I DON'T CARE!" Massie shouted at her mom. This was enough for her. Enough was enough. Everyone has their limits and Massie reached hers. It was too much for her to take. "I WON'T LET YOU TAKE AWAY BEAN FROM ME!" Massie screamed. She didn't know the tears that she had tried to fight earlier were streaming down her cheeks. Bean tilted her head to the right, looking at Massie and Kendra, confused. "I...love you Bean," Massie lifted her dog and hugged Bean. "Massie honey, please, I know it's hard for you," Kendra pleaded. She walked over to where Massie was standing. "I want to be alone," was all Massie said as she hurried to her room.
-------------------------------------
Massie stroked Bean's soft fur for the millionth time that day. It was past noon and Massie still hadn't come out of her room. Not even for lunch. How could she be thinking about eating when she knew she was about to lose her best friend? Massie closed her eyes and tried to picture herself without her problems. "Impossible," Massie muttered. She would always have her problems. Life just wasn't fair.
"Massie!" A voice said from the other side of Massie's door. Kendra. "Yes?" Massie said.
"Can we talk?" Kendra begged her daughter. Massie thought about it for a while before agreeing. Kendra ran over to Massie's bed and stroked Massie's thick brunette hair. "Honey, I know it's hard but we need somewhere to live," Kendra explained. "I know mom, and I'm sorry about that outburst," Massie apologized. "No, I get it," Kendra shook her head," you lose your friends, you lose your home where you've lived all your life and now your dog? Massie, you've been acting like a mature lady."
Massie's cheeks tinged pink. "Thanks mom," Massie smiled a little. She sat up in her bed and took a deep, shaky breath. "Ok, I'll give away B-B-Bean," Massie decided. Her voice was shaky and unsure. "Really? Thanks honey!" Kendra said, surprised by how her daughter was behaving. Kendra hugged Massie tight for three while minutes before letting her go. "I love you Massie Elizabeth Block," Kendra wiped a tear away, smiling. Kendra only used Massie's full name for special moments. And hey, who wouldn't say this was a special moment?
Kendra exited Massie's room and Massie was left alone, thinking. "Bean, I'm sorry, but I have to do this," Massie whispered. Bean scrambled after Massie, as she grabbed Bean's leash. "I know the perfect person to give you to!" Massie smiled. She ran to the kitchen, in where Isaac was talking to Kendra. "I'm sorry Isaac, but you can't keep you job. I know you are the best chafferer ever, but we are moving. Again, I am very sorry," Kendra was saying. Isaac was frowning but he nodded. "Ok, but I will miss Massie and the girls, and even Bean," Isaac smiled a bit. Massie's heart warmed up. I'll miss you too, Isaac, Massie thought. She walked into the kitchen.
"Massie! Were you spying on us?" Kendra gasped. "Well, sorta," Massie grinned," Isaac I was wondering if you would drive me one last time."
"Sure, where to?" Isaac nodded. "Thanks, and I want you to drive me to Dylan's," Massie smiled.
Once Massie arrived at her friend's estate, she bid Isaac goodbye and hurried in. Ryan, Dylan's older sister, answered the door. "Hey Massie, I heard you were moving," Ryan smiled, pulling her auburn hair into a bun. "Yeah," Massie shrugged.
"Hey there Bean!" Ryan waved at the pug," sorry to bother. Also, Dylan's in her room."
"No prob," Massie winked. She walked past Ryan with Bean.
Dylan greeted Massie once she entered Dylan's room. "Hey Dyl," Massie hugged Dylan. "Hey Mass, why are you here?" Dylan curiously asked.
"Well you know how I'm going to move? Well, yeah, um...I have to give away Bean," Massie quickly said. "Aaaaaannnnnnd?" Dylan questioned. "And I decided to give Bean to you!" Massie smiled. "What? Really?!" Dylan grinned. "Yeah, I know how much you love dogs but your mother never wants to buy one for you," Massie smiled," well today's your lucky day, Dylan!"
"Okay, I know how to take care of Bean, Massie. Heck, I can't even count how many times I've helped take care of Bean!" Dylan squealed excited. "Then it's settled," Massie said. "Bye B-Bean," Massie's voice trembled," I'll miss y-y-you." Bean scrambled over to Dylan as Massie tried hard not to cry. "Um, Mass, are you sure about this?" Dylan asked. "Yeah," Massie said," I'm sure!"
"Ok," Dylan shrugged, carrying Bean. "Bye," Massie choked out. She ran away as fast as her black Marc Jacob wedge boots could carry her. Massie whipped out her iPhone and called Isaac. She leant against a tree and calmed her racing heart down. "Wasn't I fine with this a few hours ago?" Massie whispered to herself. Honk!
Massie's eyes averted to the Range Rover parked in front of the driveway. "Oh, Isaac!" Massie leaped to her feet and ran in the car. They drove home in silence with Massie in deep thought.
What have I done? What have I done!
* One hour later *
Massie pulled out her diary. If she didn't have Bean to vent on, then she still had her diary.
