Who Is It?

Massie woke up, earlier than usual, to her phone ringing. Kristen.
"Um, Kris?" Massie yawned.
"Yeah?" Kristen said.
"It's 8:00 am, which means it's 6:00 am for California!" Massie got up," what's the matter?"
"Ok, alright, Alicia is bullying me, and me only!" Kristen sighed.
Massie noticed how weak and tired the girl was.
"Come on Kris. Relax, it's Saturday!" Massie smiled at the thought.
"I wish you were here"
"I do too!"
Massie felt a lump in her throat. She really missed her friend.
"Hey Mass?"
"Yeah?"
"Will you always be my friend, even if I did something horrible?"
"Depends!"
Massie frowned a little, not understanding Kristen.
"What's wrong?" Massie asked.
"It's about me and Dyl!" Kris began.
If Kristen ever uses wrong grammar, then it means it's a big problem, Massie noted.
"What about that?"
"Well, me and Dyl had a fight and then Alicia and Dyl joined forces. They now hang out with the dancers," Kristen's voice wobbled.
"I'm...so so so sorry Kris! How could they do that?" Massie felt angry and upset. Remember Massie. Frowning makes you get wrinkles!
"Look, Kris. I can't do anything about this but to make you feel better," Massie said, her tone as a matter of fact.
"I know, I know, that's why I'm hanging out with Claire. The new girl," Kristen's voice said.
"Why don't we FaceTime? That way, we can help each other pick out the outfits of the day!" Massie smiled.
In no time, the girls were having fun and laughing. Massie was reluctant to let the FaceTime end once Kristen had to go.
Massie set her phone down and looked at the outfit Kristen picked with her.
A white, cashmere tank top paired with a dark beige blazer, a pair of Saint Lauren studded jeans, and light brown Michael Jacobs ankle boots. Massie wore pumpkin spice flavored lip gloss, and wore her usual silver charm bracelet. Her hair was let loose, her natural curls and waves looking healthy. Massie also had a vanilla colored Michael Kors handbag (Hamilton Signature Satchel, to be exact).
Massie went down for breakfast to find strawberry waffles with cinnamon spice and whipped cream on top with maple syrup drizzled on top.
"Yum!" Massie smiled.
Once full, Massie went shopping at the Manhattan Mall. After hours of shopping, Massie made her way to the food court.
"There is no Starbucks here? Ugh!" Massie groaned.
"I guess McCafé will have to do," Massie sighed. She made her way over and bought a large strawberry milkshake with extra whipped cream on top. Wow this is so better than Starbucks! Massie thought as she enjoyed her milkshake. She checked her phone and noticed that it was 2:45.
"I need to go to school for rehearsal!"
Massie jumped. She speed walked out of the mall, while at the same time calling her mother. "Mom, take me to school. As fast as you can!" Massie said quickly before ending the call. "Who even goes to school on a Saturday," Massie grumbled to herself. She sipped her milkshake, trying to enjoy her last few minutes at the mall.
Massie suddenly felt small. She felt as if a weight was on her shoulders. Oh no, not again! Massie ran behind a bush. She was completely transformed. Just then Massie heard footsteps. The person walked near by Massie before walking away. She waited a minute before she shifted back.
"Whew!" Massie blew a strand of hair away. Honk! Honk! Honk! Massie noticed the Range Rover at the mall parking lot. Massie grabbed the remainders of her milkshake and her handbag before walking into the car.
"Hey honey, why do you need to go to school again?" Kendra asked as she drove.
"Cause I'm in the school play. It's called At First Bite," Massie said.
"Interesting!" Kendra nodded.
Nobody said a word for a while. The car was silent until Kendra turned on the radio.
"And the surfer was talking about seeing a bat!"
Massie felt like her stomach had clenched together like a knot. The news reporters were talking about the Dark One.
Whoever it is must be a student or a teacher because they have access to Harbor Heights Middle School , Massie thought. I promise to work on my suspects today!
Sarah greeted Massie once she had arrived.
"I'm the assistant director," Sarah smiled," that means I'm the person who whispers lines behind the curtains to the actors!"
"Uh...cool I guess? Anyways, I'm the fashion wardrobe management," Massie rolled her eyes," let's go! We don't wanna be late!"
The two girls ran into the auditorium, panting. "Hello girls!" Mr. Harvey greeted.
"Hi," Sarah and Massie said in unison.
"Anyways, Massie is joining us. She will be our new wardrobe manager," Mr. Harvey smiled at her.
"Massie meet the cast. Olivia is the main character, Keira. Wendy and Courtney play servants, Gordon and Mark are both behind the sound effects, and Sarah is my assistant director."
At the sound of Mark's name, Massie's cheeks felt hot.
"Anyways, we are going to decide whether or not Massie is a good fashion management!" Mr. Harvey explained," pick out an outfit for Olivia!"
Massie inspected the clothes rack carefully. "I think this green ball gown really brings out the green in your eyes. And it also adds shine to your golden hair," Massie pulled it off the rack.
"Totally ah-amazing!" Wendy and Courtney squealed.
"Not bad," Olivia muttered, jealous at Massie's attention from the girls.
Yes! I can do this, Massie smiled to herself. From then on, Massie sewed buttons, patches, and zippers back on. She measured, and knitted, and calculated until her head hurt. Maybe I need a Sanga, Massie thought, after all there is no one here but me!
Massie rushed over to the storage closet, in which her handbag was placed in.
When Massie opened the door, she saw the most shocking sight.
Mark Hirsh drinking Sanga that he had pulled out form a big cooler in the closet!!!
"Mark? What?" Massie's eyes widened.
It all makes sense! Mark is the vampire. He probably bit the surfer. After all, he does go to that beach!
"I know what you are!"
Massie lowered her voice.
"Me too. I know what you are!" Mark grinned.
Massie stepped back, the tables turned on her.
"What did you know?" Massie asked, hand on door knob in case Mark tried anything.
"I knew you were a vampire the time I first laid eyes on you. I remember that only vampires can be sunburned that badly. That day I went to pick up your lunch box? I found a Sanga cooler.
And then I finally saw you bat shifting today behind the bushes at the Manhattan Mall," Mark explained.
"Oh, so you were the person who walked by me," Massie said.
"Yeah!" Mark nodded.
"Anyways, you are a Dark One!" Massie pointed out," you probably bit the janitor and then after a few days without blood you got sick. While you were out sick, you bit a poor, unsuspecting surfer. You were sick on the same day that the surfer was bit! It all makes perfect sense!"
"No I'm not a Dark One!" Mark sighed.
"Prove it!" Massie challenged.
"My mother is Miranda Hirsh. She is the president of the vampire committee which means if one of her family members are a Dark One, then she can't be on the committee," Mark explained.
"What?" Massie rose a brow.
"Haven't you read the book?" Mark smiled.
"No, but I'll believe you!" Massie smiled back.
"Wait Massie, wanna help me find out who's the Dark One?" Mark asked.
"Yeah, sure!" Massie shrugged.
"Wanna come over to my house so we can work on a list?" Mark stared at his shoes.
"Sorry, I can't. Not today," Massie shook her brunette head," see ya!"
Massie grabbed her Michael Kors handbag, her Sanga, and made her way away from the school.

Massie tied her wet hair up in a ponytail. She had just taken a shower and while in the soothing shower, Massie had tried to think about all she learned ever since she moved to New York.
1) Alicia and Dylan are jerks.
2) McCafé is way better than Starbucks.
3) Olivia may like Mark.
4) real friends are way better than betas.
5) vampires drink Sanga, not blood.
6) Nurse Adele may be a vampire.
Massie reread number six again. She had came to that conclusion in the shower.
FLASHBACK
First day of school:-
Massie and the whole school were crowded around the janitor. The janitor was moaning and nurse Adele was speaking for him. However, there were red stains around her mouth.
            END Of FLASHBACK
Massie decided that the red stains were blood. And hadn't nurse Adele be the first person to find the janitor? Maybe she bit him and then she started acting all innocent. "I'm tired and I'll just go to bed. Maybe tomorrow I can ask nurse Adele," Massie told herself. She pulled out her diary and decided to update her state of union.
