I'm dedicating this chapter to Silvermoon54 for being a great reader and always voting and making me feel like my story is actually great!

Massie felt like crying. It was Monday morning and she was dressed in a Victoria secret black, glittery pants, a black and white striped long sleeved shirt bought from Forever 21, black platform sneakers, and she had her hair in a braid (she had traded her target bought clothes for more expensive, comfier clothes). The worst part was, Massie had to wear a sun hat.
She was dreading the moment she walked in school. Massie walked into the Range Rover and sat down, angry.
Kendra kept driving untill she reached Massie's school : Harbor Heights Middle School.
Once she was in her home room, Massie looked around. She saw the nerds, talking in a language Massie couldn't understand. The jocks, who were holding soccer balls. The computer geeks, hunched over MacBooks. And finally, Massie's kind, the populars. Massie instantly knew who the popular alpha was. The girl held herself up straight, her golden blonde hair flowing , her emerald green eyes were glinting, and she had bubblegum pink Glossipgirl lipgloss in her hand.
Massie walked over. She held her head high and kept on walking to the group of girls. "Oh hey girls, look it's the new girl," the blonde smiled," I'm Olivia Ryan!"
"I'm Courtney," a girl with a strawberry blonde bob waved.
"I'm Wendy," the other girl with the long black hair smiled.
Massie's heart swelled happily. First, I would fit in with them. Then I would over throw this LBR of an alpha.
Massie kept the thoughts in her mind.
Suddenly, Olivia marched over.
"Are you lost, Rashie?" She smirked. Courtney and Wendy laughed hard, as if it was the best joke ever. Massie felt all eyes on her.
"Well, are you a-" Massie began but that we as far as she got. A girl with shiny black curls, bright hazel-green eyes, and naturally creamy tan skin.
The girl was beautiful but her fashion sense was horrible. She was wearing bright green jeans, a white and neon pink striped T-shirt, and neon orange flats.
"Hey, leave her alone, is that all you do? Pick on new kids?! What better time to spend your day than bother people, like an annoying brat," the girl spoke. Some people started to snicker. Then everyone went back to their business. Olivia was glaring at Massie and the girl.
"I had it under control," Massie said, coldly. "Hey, I'm Sarah Hirsh !" The girl smiled, inevident to Massie's cold tone.
"Oh, hi. I'm Massie!" Massie rolled her eyes. Gawd, I can't be seen with this LBR, but what good will that do? Olivia already hates me and nawt because of my clothes.
Massie took a deep breath and tried to tell herself over and over again that she still had time to fix things.
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Massie smiled a bit. It was the second to last period before lunch. Massie thought English was her best subject and that was the period before lunch.
Students started to settle in their English class room. Massie spied Olivia re-glossing and whispering with Courtney and Wendy. Olivia must have sensed Massie staring at her because she suddenly looked up. Massie quickly spun around.
Suddenly, a young man entered the class. He had blonde hair, and light gray eyes. He looked like a movie star.
"Hello class! I'm Mr. Harvey," the guy introduced," and I will be your English teacher!"
"Oooh, Mr. Harvey, I heard that you used to be a child actor!" Olivia batted her eyelashes.
"Yes I was! Those good old days," Mr. Harvey grinned," and now it's time for us to introduce our only new student this year: Massie Block."
Massie walked up to the front of the class, uncomfortable. She usually loved strolling down the classrooms acting as if they were The Red Carpet , because she was wearing fashionable clothes. But now? Massie wasn't so sure. Especially since Olivia hated her and was glaring.
"So Massie, where did you move from?" Mr. Harvey smiled. "Los Angeles, California," Massie replied flatly.
"Ok, well, where did you move in? Like, which neighborhood?" Mr. Harvey awkwardly asked.
"Oh, um, my neighborhood is called The Estate," Massie sighed.
"Did you know they filmed a movie there? It's called At First Bite! And we are doing a play on the movie this year!" Mr. Harvey excitedly said," we will watch the movie tomorrow and then we'll audition this Friday. It'll be so much fun!"
"With Rashie Block here, I won't guarantee any fun," Olivia sneered.
The class laughed and in no time there were calls of "Rashie!" going around.
Massie suddenly felt weird, she felt as if she were shrinking and as if she felt lighter, more faster, and something heavy on her back. Whatever was happening to her, Massie didn't wait to find out, she ran out of class and to the girl's bathroom. "Now class, we don't treat the new student like that!" Mr. Harvey was saying as Massie ran out. Once safely locked in a stall, Massie knew what had happened. She had become a bat. Massie hung upside down in the stall. She calmed herself down.
It's normal, right? All vampires can do this! Massie thought. She slowed her breathing and flapped her wings. At least I'm not Rashie, Massie frowned.
Suddenly, she felt as if her body was growing and her back felt lighter. Oh no! Was all that ran in Massie's head before blacking out.
---------------------------------------
"W-w-where am I?" Massie yawned. She tried to sit up but her head felt woozy. "Hello dear, how are you feeling?" A plump lady with pink cheeks smiled at Massie.
"Well, where am I?" Massie repeated again.
"The nurse's office dear. One of your friends named Sarah brought you here," the Nurse.
Massie's memories suddenly filled her head. She had remembered bat shifting, but then, what did Sarah see?
"Well, how'd she find me?" Massie asked quickly.
"Oh, Sarah said you slipped in the bathroom and fell in a weird angle," the nurse smiled.
"Oh, well, um, what's your name?" Massie asked, feeling happy that Olivia hadn't seen her in that horrible state.
"Nurse Adele," the nurse smiled.
"What period is it?" Massie asked.
"Oh, the bell will ring in five minutes and then it will be lunch time," Nurse Adele explained.
"Ok. I'm feeling fine now! Thanks!" Massie said, sitting up quickly.
"I'm writing a pass to your teacher to explain why you missed a period!" Nurse Adele said while scribbling on a price of paper. She handed it to Massie who politely thanked her before walking back to class. Massie knew they had English again. It was double English before lunch and it would be hard to face the class after she ran out like that.
Massie took a deep breath and walked in, as causally as possible. She handed the note to Mr. Harvey just as the bell rang. She speed walked to the cafeteria and bought salad with cheese, breadcrumbs and spicy chicken on it.
Massie looked around for where to sit. This problem had never happened to her before. "Hey Massie! Over here!" A voice called. Massie spun around to find Sarah sitting at a table far away from most of the other tables.
Massie walked to Sarah's table, trying hard not to cringe. "I'm so glad you sat with us!" Sarah smiled. "Us?" Massie questioned. "Yeah, my twin and his friend will be sitting with us. Oh, here they come!" Sarah pointed.
Massie suddenly choked  on a piece of chicken. "That's Gordon. He's my brother's friend!" Sarah explained.
A cute, pale boy with messy light brown hair, walked over with a dark skinned boy who had black hair.
"Eh...ma....gawd!" Massie fanned her face. Sarah's twin brother was the same boy who had noticed Massie's embarrassing  sunburn at the beach.
"Hey, I'm Mark Hirsh," Mark shrugged.
At least he didn't voice that we have met before, Massie thought.
I wonder what group they fit in at school
Just then, Mark and Gordon both pulled out MacBooks and started typing.
The computer geeks! And Sarah is with them too. What have I done to myself!
Massie quickly glanced at Olivia's table, filled with cheerleaders, and cute boys (although Mark tops them all).
To Massie's horror, Olivia was smirking right back. Massie's head was pounding. She all of a sudden felt tired.
Maybe I need a Sanga. Luckily, I have a mini cooler in my lunch bag.
"Bye Sarah. See you...erm.. Later," Massie said. She stood up, but in the process of doing so knocked down her lunch bag. "I'll get it!" Mark scrambled after it. "No, no, I'm fine!" Massie rushed after him. Mark already had the bag though so Massie pulled it out of his grip. "What's your problem?" Mark cried in frustration.
"Sorry and bye!"
Massie ran to the library, sat at the table in the back of the library, and pulled out her Sanga.
When she took one sip, she felt good. Come on Massie! You will be ah-mazing like always! Just stay away from Sarah, Gordon, and Mark and you can probably fit in with the popular group. Then you take over. How hard can this be?
Massie took a deep breath and closed her eyes. Just then a high pitched scream sounded.
"Help, the janitor is dying!"
Massie's eyes widened.
What could it be now?
