Chapter 19

Rida was quietly laughing. 

Confused, we all looked at each other in bewilderment at Rida's behavior. Rida then turned around and said, "Shouldn't you of all people know what's going on Lina? Since you're the one who made these people unconscious in the first place!"

In shock, we turned to look at Lina who was horrified. She stammered, "B-but you told me that they were on the verge of turning into demons! You said that if I stunned them with my powers, I could stop their transformation!" She gestured to where the demon that Tanken killed was, "You didn't tell me that I was helping to create the demons!"

"Of course I didn't my dear. If I told you what my plans were you wouldn't have done my bidding," Rida sneered. 

Something clicked in my mind so I said while pointing at them, "Wait! This means that you two have met each other before!"

Rida nodded, "That's correct".

"Yeah cuz I remember Lina saying, 'I already know who you are!' when Lina and Rida met each other a few days ago!" I said as I remembered the meeting.

Again Rida nodded, "Again correct. She almost blew her cover," he glared at Lina.

"Why did you lie to all of us?!" Cleite screamed at Rida with rage in her eyes. She must've been torn inside with the betrayal. She did tell me to believe in Rida, now that belief and trust was shattered. In anger she pointed at Gadalka and screamed, "You! You of all people should have seen this! You could have stopped Rida! Or at least warn us about him!"

With that very true statement, we all stared at Gadalka waiting for her to give us her answer to Cleite's question. She turned around and said calmly, "I didn't need to see this, for I already knew of this".

"So you planned this along with Rida?!" Dao said through gritted teeth. 

Gadalka only nodded. 

Screaming in rage, Lina said, "Why?! Why are you doing this? What's your purpose for doing this?!"

Rida sighed and mused out loud, "So many questions Lina. Which should I answer first?"

"Don't screw with me!" Lina screamed as she summoned her power. Purple ribbons appeared around Lina and without thinking, she lunged at Rida. 

Before any of us could stop her, she was already close to Rida with hate in her eyes. 

Shaking his head, Rida said passively, "I have no use for you anymore". With that said, he transformed his cane into a sword and slashed Lina through her stomach. Lina fell back and didn't move.

We all stood there horrified at what Rida did. "Lina!" I yelled as I ran to her side. I checked her pulse and felt that it was faintly still there. "She's breathing but very faintly," I told everyone. I then tried to stop the bleeding by ripping the sleeves off my shirt and pressing it into her wound. The cloth quickly became covered in blood.

Wudao asked quietly, "Now Rida. Please tell us what you hope to accomplish by creating demons." She then looked at Rida with a serious glint in her eyes, "We deserve that at least."

Rida just laughed as he replied, "We were blessed by the angels! Why shouldn't we rule this world instead of mere humans?"

"So you plan on holding the non-angellic mark bearers hostages with the demons? For what?" Kuma asked. 

Smirking Rida replied, "I told you already. To rule the world". He looked at our shocked and dumbfound expressions and said, "I'll give you five days to think about it. You can either join me and Gadalka or end up like Lina over there. Your choice." With that said, Rida turned around and walked with Gadalka further into the cave.
