The door behind us slammed shut and we were locked in a room with just Rida and Gadalka.

Under my breath I said, "Well isn't this just fabulous".

Defiantly, Cleite yelled at Rida and Gadalka, "Like hell we'd side with you!"

Rida shook his head and said in a condescending voice, "Tut tut child. Such language. But we already knew what your answer was going to be".

"We also knew that you four would come here by yourselves without the rest of the troop," Gadalka added.

"So are you going to kill us?" Dao asked darkly.

Shrugging his shoulders, Rida replied, "Why would I need to kill you?"

Confused we looked at each other. As I looked at Tanken, I happened to notice that he had whipped out a small dagger. The blade gleamed lightly.

"So you're not going to kill us?" I asked.

"I never said that you weren't going to die," Rida replied with a smirk on his face. "I mean -"

He was then cut off by Tanken throwing a dagger at his face. Rida quickly turned his cane into a small shield and easily deflected the dagger. "Now now child, it's not polite to interrupt your elders," he said while wagging his finger at Tanken. Tanken just looked pissed. He then looked behind him at the door.

He whispered to us, "Guys I hear something coming".

"As I was saying before I was rudely interrupted, I can always have the demons kill you off," Rida said happily.

He then gestured to the door and it burst open by the crushing force of demons. They came growling and barred their teeth and claws at us. We huddled close together back to back as we faced the demons that surrounded us.

"Well Kasai you asked why the demons haven't attacked us earlier . . ." Tanken said as he surveyed the demons. "Looks like you got your answer: Rida wanted us to be in close quarters so we couldn't escape from him or the demons".

Clapping her hands, Gadalka praised, "That's correct Tanken. If only you guys figured that out earlier then you wouldn't have been in this mess. Oh wait, it doesn't matter. I would've seen your plans a mile away".

"Tch," Cleite said as one of the demons got too close to her.

"Farewell forever children!" Rida said as he stood up and bowed. Tipping his hat at us he added, "The final act of Laylania is now starting. This will be entertaining". He and Gadalka then left the room using a secret door.

"SCREW YOU RIDA! SCREW YOU GADALKA!" Cleite screamed as she hurled gusts of wind at t he door they used to leave.

"Cleite," Dao said.

"What?!" Cleite snapped.

"We kind of have a situation here we need to take care of before you go off trying to break down that door," Dao said as he chucked a pebble at a demon. The pebble ricocheted off the demon and hit several others, killing them instantly.

She sighed and replied, "I know. I know. I just . . ."

Putting his hand on her shoulder, Tanken said, "I get it. We all do. But to get to them, we kinda need to survive this".

As if the demons were responding to an order, they attacked us all at once.

Creating a huge tornado, Cleite was able to send the demons closest to us flying. They hit the ceiling of the room and exploded into dark dust. Using the remaining wind gusts, I created a huge fire dragon which completely engulfed the demons who got into its path. Dao and Tanken took turns using daggers and pebbles to instantly kill the demons near them. Even though we kept killing demons, more and more just kept coming.
