Chapter 29 ~ Potency
* Max's POV *
"I don't know how we're going to pull this off, they're too powerful," Carlisle said. I turned my head towards him, knowing he was right.
"Well I'm going to do this. I will fight. Anyone can leave if they wish but I will go through this even if I am on my own," I declared. I wasn't afraid of them, they were powerful and they had Amelia which in any war would be a huge advantage. She was practically invincible and if she was a complete vampire she would live on forever.
I wasn't going to back down. My children needed their mother and that's what they're going to get. I've been a terrible father their whole lives and now I can change that. I will fight for what they need.
"Son, you're not going to be on your own for this. You know I love to kick some ass." Dad pat me hard on the back which made me wince. I was still healing.
Truthfully we had retreated because we needed a plan, healing would only take a few minutes. We needed to find a way of distracting Narissa so she didn't have a hold on Amelia. If we destroyed her things would become a lot easier.
A previous idea started to seep in my mind. It was Amelia's first and she wanted to go through with it but minimal people needed to know what it was. No one else could know or it will fail.
"We're all going to fight, none of us will back down. We all love Amelia and want her back. Now, we just need to think. They're all powerful in their own way. The only person who isn't much of a threat is Ash," Mom stated. She was right, Ash intrigued all of us. He wasn't even trying so he either didn't want to partake or he was warming up for later on, either one Aro had no concerns over him.
"That's true. I think," I paused and looked at Damien. "You need to delude them all but somehow do it so Nolan can't undo it. I think you'll be able to find your moment, we're just going to have to make sure that Narissa doesn't take your power so quickly. I don't think any one of us wants to be the victim of Amelia's power."
I turned towards Jasper. You could tell that he was calculating, he was the most useful one when it came to fighting. "We're going to need Amelia's help," he stated. "She already overpowers them. She can stop them all but under Narissa's influence it's going to be difficult. Max you're going to have to handle her." I nodded, I knew that she'll probably hurt me but everything within her would stop her from killing me. Plus this was probably the only way I can be helpful.
"Yes, that means that everyone else will have to stay out of the way. If anyone sees someone else being Amelia's victim jump in and help them. We don't want to lose anyone," Alice added.
Everyone agreed. "By the way, I have my power back. Narissa would probably try to steal it as soon as we get back, but if she doesn't we can use it as a distraction," Hilary piped up. I glanced at her for the first time realising the resemblance between her and Amelia. I always felt like Amelia had gotten an unusual mix of genes from her parents because she didn't look quite like any of them. I knew that Amelia had the same green eyes that Hilary before she was a vampire but with everything else there was no other specific feature.
Now I saw Amelia had a similar spirit to her mother and she often made the same expressions as her father, Nahuel.
I knew that they have been going through a sort of hell ever since everything's started. Amelia with herself and me and Hilary had been with the Volturi. Selestia kept her close so Narissa always had her power.
"Best to use it as soon as the fight breaks out. What happens once you touch someone when you're under your shield?" Jasper asked.
"They disappear with me. which would make it either difficult to fight or really easy," Hilary explained.
