Song of the Chapter: She is Love by Parachute
Stella's POV
I walk through the sterile hospital halls, my socks with the little grips on the bottom sticking to the floor with each step I make and my IV bag and holder dragging behind me, the wheels squeak softly, but seem so loud in this quiet building.
I've been in this place for Four days. Four days too long that is.. and if I don't get out soon, any day now I could crack and become mentally insane.
The walk to the lobby is far from my room, but I told Josh that whenever he comes, I want to walk down to get him to start building my strength back up. He protested at first, but I am stubborn and he knows I will stop at nothing to get what I want.
I push the large glass door open and I see Josh talking to the front desk lady, Paula, who we have made friends with since I have been here.
I see him nodding and smiling, then he sees me and his eyes light up as he strides towards me, hands in his pockets and his typical hat resting on his head, "How do you feel today?" he asks as he leans in to plant a kiss on my cheek.
"Better than yesterday, worse than I will be tomorrow." I smile and say, then reach for his hand, pull it out of his pocket, and slide my fingers in his.
"You say that everyday." he smiles and shakes his head as we walk back to where the glass door leading to the elevators is.
"Well, its true everyday."
he smiles, rolls his eyes then sighs, "I miss you being at home."
"I know," I push the button to go up, "I'll be home before you know it." I put my hand on his cheek and smile.
He lays his hand over mine on his face and closes his eyes, then we hear the elevator beep and 6 or 7 children walk out, and their eyes open in amazement. I step back and watch as the children crowd around Josh, asking him all kinds of questions about his movies and such.
The way he smiles as he sits into a chair, the kids surrounding him, probably from the children's hospital visiting for the day, listening and breathing in every word he speaks, makes my heart flutter.
Josh told me he was worried about me being pregnant, which I guess could have been a possibility, but not exactly too likely. But now that I think about it, that wouldn't have been so bad.. Yes, I know we are young, and I know he has a job that is impractical for a child to be pulled into, but looking at him now, he would be the best father. Caring, thoughtful, loving.
My thoughts are interupted by a light tapping on my shoulder. I spin around and see Jerry, an older man who works here at the hospital and has came and talked to me everyday since i've gotten here. I don't know what made him come and talk to me the first night after they made Josh leave, but I'm glad he did. He has made my stay here less.. unbearable.
"Afternoon Miss Stella."
"Goodafternoon Jerry. How's your day been?" I ask, then look back at Josh who is pointing at me and smiling. I slightly wave at them and then I turn back to Jerry.
"Ah, its been slow, but its always nice to see you!" he smiles and takes me in a one-armed-half-hug and I wrap my arm around his back and squeeze him lightly. Physical contact from someone other than Josh is still new to me, but I try to be as accepting as possible. "You got yourself a good one right there." he nods his head towards Josh.
"I sure do. You know him?" I ask.
He nods slightly, "He and I talked when you were first checked in.. Nice kid for being an actor. You know I have met a fair share of actors and actresses sicne I've started working here, but none like him. He's different then the rest."
