"Niklti hai jaan par jati nahi
Tere bina ye saans bhi aati nahi.
Khojhte hai khud ko dar-b-dar bas khud mai paate nahi.
Tu thi jahan vahan aaj bhi hai, tu thi jahan vahan aaj bhi hai.
Bas us tarah mere huzur mai aati nahi."
"My soul yearns for your presence, without you, life's rhythm falters. In your absence, I lose myself, searching everywhere, yet remain incomplete. Though memories of you linger, your essence no longer graces me with its presence."
I murmured in my chamber, sitting on the floor taking support of my bed. Thunder rumbles in the cloud. My chamber and empty heart is filling with these sounds. Lightning is entering from the big window, where she would often stand.
The cool breeze that once brought solace now falters, unable to reach the depth of my burning heart. The flames of anguish rise so high that even the gentlest if winds cannot penetrate the fortress of my sorrow.
I closed my eyes and rest my neck on wall of the bed. Remembering old memories of us. My teasing action towards her, her pouted face, the way she always smiles whenever i kiss her.
"Bhai sa, bhai sa.....why are you sitting on the floor"
Prem's word shook me out of her thoughts.
I straighten my neck and gaze run towards him.
"Your are a king, sitting like this doesn't suit you, brother."
He said in trembling voice. The pain is visible in his tone.
"Shobha to hume apni biwi par talwar uthana bhi nhi dega, Prem"
"It will not befitting for me to raise sword on my wife, Prem"
His gaze fell down in the foor after listening my words.
He run his eyes on the floor beside me where i have placed the liquor, hookah and glasses. I pick up the container of the liquor and start pouring it into the silver glass.
"Enough Bhai sa, you already have finished the whole pot"
He sat down on the ground beside me and stop my hand.
"Don't stop me, brother please don't, i don't have courage to do all this"
I said in shivering voice. My thorat is so much heavy with emotions. I want to cry but can't. I only need her lap to cry, cry like a baby, only she can handle this crying king nobody else could not even see.
"The decision was also yours, brother."
He stated in low tone.
He was right on his place, nobody is in favour of this war, not even me. But king's ego is.
"I agree, but you say....is there any other option ?"
I can see his adam's apple moving when i asked him for the solution. His face become more pale after this. I know there is nothing left. I know nobody could give me solution, this fight is started because of my ego, and love towards my father, but i also don't want to hurt my love in all this.
Alas, i wish none of this had happened. I wish this news was false. I wish Ragini hadn't agreed to this fight. I wish this responsibility wasn't mine. I wish i were dead...dead.
