max needs to rant

preferences

we all have preferences. some people like fem!calum, some people like bottom!luke, some like daddy!ashton, some like punk!michael. some people are so picky, they refuse to read stories if it has something they do not like. but you know what? that is all okay.

i like to read bottom!michael stories, no matter what ship it is, but i can read stories with top!michael as well. i'm not a big fan of daddy kink or mpreg, but i'll read the story if i like the idea. what am i picky about? usually when it comes to muke or fem!5sos, but that's about it.

but i don't usually write anything that is not of my preference. i can, but it won't happen a lot. i did it once with height, because a reader of mine really liked top!ashton in lashton and i felt bad that i've never written a top!ashton lashton story. she was also the only top!ashton lashton shipper who was nice to me. i'm not saying all top!ashton lashton shippers are rude. she just was the only one who talked to me and was very nice.

but don't give me shit if my preference is different from yours. not everyone likes the same thing, you know. so what if our top choices are different? we both like the same ship, so why can't we bond over how fucking cute they are together instead of arguing who tops?

also, if there's a ship you don't like, don't insult it or the people who like that ship. for example, there was this zarry shipper whose bio bashed larry and the shippers. i admit, there are shippers who are immature and rude and shove larry in everyone's face, but don't generalize every single shipper based on the bad ones.

i've met elounor shippers who are nice, and elounor and larry are two of the biggest rival ships. i hardly ever see any elounor shippers go to larry stories to talk about how fake larry is or how real elounor is, but when i go to elounor stories, there's at least one comment that says something along the lines of "ELOUNOR IS FAKE" or "LARRY IS REAL" or "EW ELOUNOR."

does respect mean anything to you at all? do you not know how to respect? also, what's the point of opening up an elounor story if you're just going to talk about larry? don't like the ship, okay, but don't insult it. i'm not a fan of cashton, but you don't see me bashing the ship or the people who like it. i'm not a fan of sophiam, zerrie, jelena, or phan, but i respect the ships and people who ship it.

see, i have a guilty ship, but because so many people don't like it, i never tell anyone what it is. i told one person and they thought i was weird. since then, i don't care if you beg or give me your first-born child. i will never  tell you what my guilty ship is. (it isn't cash, by the way. i'm pretty open about loving that ship.)

anyway, basically everyone's preferences are different. don't hate or insult someone or their preference, because that's just one of the most immature things anyone could do (i'm being politically correct here, but it's true).

i'll read top!ashton for lashton, but i won't write a lot of top!ashton lashton stories. i'll read bottom!louis for larry, but i won't write bottom!louis larry stories (or any larry story, for that matter). but that's perfectly fine. it's my preference. RESPECT IT. i'll definitely respect yours.
