max needs to rant

take me home (or don't, it's whatever)

it is 9pm and i'm still at school. i finished my class a little more than two hours ago and am sitting in the school recreation center waiting for my friend cathy to message me and let me know that she's finished with her classes so that way we can go home together.

well, i messaged her the moment i got out of class and told her i was waiting for her. she hadn't messaged me back, because i assumed she was in class (she finishes classes an hour after i do), so i waited. an hour passed and she should have been done with class by then, but still i waited for her to text back.

then half an hour passed.

i was starting to wonder why she hadn't texted me anything. i gave her the benefit of doubt that she was stuck in class working on her assignments, because she's a computer science major and she gets a shit ton of homework assignments. i waited a little longer and then decided to check this app she and i have where we can locate where we both are.

i found that she wasn't even at school, but at some shopping center in the city over.

at this point i was annoyed. she didn't even let me know that she was leaving. she didn't even message me at all. and i have a strong feeling that she is with her boyfriend finn there.

i ended up just messaging my friend marcus who i know was still on campus if he could take me home and he agreed.

i started to rant to another friend cynthia about how peeved i was that cathy just simply forgot about me and didn't even think to text me. so far, it's been more than two hours since i messaged her. you'd think that she would check her phone at least once in between when i texted her and now.

she didn't.

anyway, since i don't like to confront people, cynthia decided to do it for me (but in a subtle manner) and turns out that cathy did indeed forget to take me home. she told me that she was so busy with working on a project that it slipped her mind that she was my ride home. she's a hardworking person so i believed her (even though my phone said she was at a shopping center, but whatever. she was most likely hanging out with finn).

(also, her tone in the texts she's sending me are either her being genuinely apologetic or brushing it off like it's no big deal. i'm going to believe that she is sincerely sorry.)

welp, at least she apologized. i should have just messaged finn instead, because at least he's more reliable and i have a better chance of getting in touch with him than with cathy.

things are well between cathy and me. i was passive aggressive when it came to messaging her, but i'm whatever with her forgetting me. she wants to make it up to me, but i don't think that's necessary. besides, i don't have anything in mind for her to do for me.

that is about it. i'm less peeved now and will return to working on my stupid lab report.
