Rose strolled along the corridor, her frail fingers making a line on the walls as she passed by, she hummed and nodded her head. She reached the dead end of the corridor and there was only a single door, it had a brass knob. With sheer instinct she turned it open and gasped as the room was lit in an eerie orange light and the person standing before her was ‘cloak king’ itself as she liked to call.
His back was turned towards her; he was staring intently into the living fire in the mantelpiece.
“Chaos… do you have any information about the girl.” Rose noticed that the room was occupied by another person too.
“My son, he is onto it. He says that there is nothing special about her. She is just as ordinary as every kid in Saviors…” Chaos explained.
Rose peered at the stranger; he was an odd looking man. His eyes were cruel and he had a long scar that travelled from his eye down his chin. His lips curved into a cruel grin. Rose could feel the overwhelming darkness that surrounded these two guys, their darkness fighting for control over the other.
The cloak king grumbled. He long talon nails gestured Chaos to step forward, Rose was surprised to see that Chaos was tentative to do so. How can a person as cruel as him be afraid of another?
Chaos stood beside the looming figure of ‘Cloak King.’ The fire sizzled and made sounds for a few seconds and until it subdued and showed the picture of a person holding a crystal ball. Rose had seen enough movies to know what a crystal ball was for.
“She’ll be either your death or your greatest triumph…” the man said tapping his fingers on the ball. The fog circled and then cleared to reveal a teenage girls photo.
“My seer was never wrong and considering the fact that her mom was one of the greatest wizards ever…” The cloak king continued.
Rose thought that the girl looked familiar; she took a few steps ahead and peered at it.
“That’s me…” It was more like a question when it left her mouth.
“Who is there?” Chaos snapped into her direction.
Rose ran as fast as she could away from them, her mind racing with many questions, she wanted to remember everything when she woke up.
“Rose…” she heard someone calling her name, It was Helen’s name. She sighed thanking her stars. She ran in the direction of her voice… she felt her warm hands checking her forehead.
“I’m close…” she panted.
Rose woke up in her room panting… Helen hovered over her with a glass of water.
“Is it another bad dream?” Helen stood with one hand on her hip and the other holding a glass.
Life skills drained out the color from most of the faces, Most of the healers looked pale as they came into total terms of what they are fighting against. Rose walked like a zombie through the halls having a brain storm.
“I don’t believe a word of what he said today, I mean it’s more like a sci-fi story people make up.” Helen said.
“I can’t believe you said that… why you don’t believe it because it’s not any more the LaLa land you thought. I mean for the oldies we are sci-fi story but still we exist don’t we?” Ronny’s thoughts silenced Helen.
Rose was still broody when the boys joined the table, she was picking at her food remembering most of what Mr. Pinto said: The cloak king was a ‘soul drinker’ from the planet ‘silver hawks.’ They feed on souls of living matter; they are known to be the worst enemies that earthlings had ever had. Recent space patrollers have sighted their activities in most of the parts of world and they are recruiting the forces. It was even said that there was an internal help possibly the work of a nightling.
