“Did you find a way to contact him?”Helen asked while they sat munching on a bowl of cornflakes.
Jesse nodded ‘no.’
Though none said it out loud each one of them knew it was really important that they make a move a right now. They didn’t even consider the idea of sitting back while the elders dealt with it. It was like everyone felt the responsibility of protecting their land and they didn’t wait for someone to do their work.
Rose was adamant about finding Mr. Dome and talking to him. She even threatened Jesse to sleep walk if he wasn’t going to help her. Jesse nodded and they agreed to try the spell that night to which most of the elders were ignorant of. He didn’t understand why Rose was being so stubborn about finding Mr. Dom? Does she know...?
“You must tell her, she will know about it anyhow…It’s better if u say.” The voice inside his head spoke.
This was another thing that bewildered him very much, whose voice that belonged to? Why did he/she chose to stay in his head?
“You better say before it isn’t too late…” It was a she Jesse decided after listening keenly to the voice. A powerful one at that… he deduced.
“Silly boy…stop wasting your time on me. Let the truth be out.” She chided laughing.
Rose wasn’t sure if Jesse was really going to try the spell, he was being paranoid since the day she was taken. She searched the library for the spell book wanting to do it all by herself besides it would be a good practise her.
She borrowed the book and headed to her room. She knew Mr. Moose wouldn’t mind as long as she doesn’t get into trouble. Mr. Moose is her charms professor, he is a good person as far as she is concerned since he wouldn’t mind if she was present or absent. Unlike the other groups leads always had single one to one sessions with the professor and if a student doesn’t come he would have an hour of free time.
Rose always wondered how Jesse would always be the first one to come out of the class and now she got the answer. She liked the freedom that is given to a lead and she was scared with the resonsibility that a lead has to take too. She kind of missed being the damsel.
Saphira was with Mrs. Dustin, she was her teacher and Saphira loved her as much as she loved Rose. Saphira being really clever Mrs. Dustin found it hard to sate the hunger of her ever eager brain to learn new things.
Rose fingered the yellow pages, she skimmed through the pages until she found the tracking spells section. She read the spells and its uses but none of them gave the info she wanted, she was vexed by the end of reading few spells that didn’t help her much.
“It must be under some other category…”
Rose dumped the book on the table and sat pressing her temples.
“351…” came a low whisper at first it was barely audible that Rose ignored it but then it grew louder and louder until Rose shivered with the intensity.
“351…?” she opened the page. She read the spidery hand writing spell “Blood spells…”
“Oh! This must be it then.” She read the content and then re-read it again and again. And slowly as the concept began to sink in, her face became stern. And Jesse that very second to come in.
