Rose was standing guard when Les walked over to her. She was doing neck exercise, she felt sore from sleeping on the hard floor.
“I told you to sleep in the room…”
“I can’t, I feel as if the kid’s parents are still around here…”
Rose smiled at her. Les was more superstitious then she thought. She assured her that there was no lingering spirits but the idea fascinated her more that she kept saying that people with unfinished business turn into spirits.
“May I ask what their unfinished business is?” Rose whispered.
Les nodded towards the kids. Rose couldn’t help but snicker. She was fascinated by how she could be really smart and dumb randomly.
“Yeah! You told me last night…” Les playfully punched her as Rose snickered.
“You still have one hour before we set out to Rotunda…” Rose pointed out as Les rubbed her eyes.
“I know… couldn’t sleep.”
“Me too. What do you think is happening with other teams?” Rose wondered.
Les froze, her eyes turned white and she stared into the space. Rose was oblivious to Les’s change. Les gasped after a few seconds and that caught Rose’s attention.
“Is everything alright? You look like you saw a ghost…”
Les evil eyed her. Rose raised her hands in surrender.
“I had a premonition…”
Rose looked at her quizzically, she had no idea that Les could foretell things.
“It’s Jesse…I saw him being captured by souldrinkers.” Rose collapsed on the floor beside her.
“It can’t be…I have to warn him.” Rose panicked.
Les nodded though she didn’t know how they were going to communicate. All their mobiles were duumped in the academy and it would take atleast 3 hours to reach a point to get signal in the only mobile Rose carried. There was only one way they could do it: choosing between Rotunda and saving Jesse.
Rose was already taking to Ronny about the situation. He was rubbing his chin thinking about what to do.
“I have a plan…but let’s first go to Rotunda.” Rose looked aghast.
Didn’t he understand what she said, she was not going to leave Jesse clueless about the trap he was walking to. She had to help him.
“Trust me, please. I’m not going to let Jesse hurt…” Ronny pleaded.
Ronny had been her friend ever since and she had no problem trusting him but the truth she was afraid that Ronny was just saying it to stop her from panicking. She reluctantly followed the team to Rotunda.
“You don’t have a plan, do you?” Les whispered careful to keep it away from Rose.
“I do infact you would be surprised when you saw it…” he winked.
The girls were lagging behind but Patty worked her weak legs too hard to keep up the pace. They stopped at the mouth of a valley.
“There…” Patty pointed towards the village that was half burnt.
“Rose… concentrate or we should be worried about you instead of Jesse.” Les chided.
Rose drew the map out of her bag, the dot was bright and emitted more energy. Les peeked at the map over her shoulders.
