Two days had passed, Rose wouldn’t talk or see Ronny at the least. Each day Chaos would come and ask if she had decided on what course she wanted to take. Ronny would simply and stare as his father did most of the talking.

Rose tried reaching out to Jesse in her dreams. She had many dreamless sleep and by the end of the second day she wondered whether she lost her gift but she couldn’t give up. She thought hard about Jesse while dozing off and that didn’t work out well. She was always stuck in endless maze or watching the back of Chaos.

“Time is precious…they will be coming for her any day now.” The voice over the phone grumbled sending shivers in his spine.

“Give me some more time, I’m sure she’ll come around.” Chaos voice was desperate and pleading, a wrong combination for a man like him Rose thought.

“Your love for her mother is blinding you, I’m not going to sit and watch a mere earthling take my only chance of power. If it comes to it mark my words, it would be the last day for you too.”

Chaos threw the mobile in his couch, walked briskly away from the room towards Rose’s room. Rose tagged along with him, she knew that something worse was going to happen judging by the steam he was letting out.

He threw the doors open with a harsh sound, Ronny woke up startled. He met his father’s glare and trembled. In one swift motion he was beside Rose, hoping she wouldn’t hurt her.

“How are you ever going to make her love you, if all you do is sit and sleep…” Chaos thundered.

Ronny stammered incoherently. “You are just like your mother, good for nothing.” He slapped him hard on his face, leaving marks on his face. Tears welled up in his eyes. She had been trying too hard to make him proud and all he ever gets back from him was hatred.

Rose watched them in horror. How could he say that? She felt sorry for Ronny, he held his head down. Rose was sure that he saw tears in his eyes.

Chaos shook Rose’s body, trying to wake me up. As seconds passed by he grew aggressive, she felt his rough hands shaking her. She felt the pull towards her body and she was going to wake up any second.

“Please…father.” He urged not trusting his voice to speak any further.

“Her time is up, I promised to not to touch her if she is yours and seeing her I guess she would better off dead than being with a loser like you.” He hised.

Ronny stood up. “One more day, please. I’ll talk to her to night.”

“Alright, just one more day. At the dawn of day after tomorrow she’ll be as good as dead.” He growled and walked away his cloak swooshing behind him.

Rose rubbed her eyes, and woke up. She didn’t miss a bit of the conversation. She understood that Ronny was trying to protect her and she knew that somehow all Ronny did was just out of fear for her father.

“You okay?” she asked as he sat staring into the space.

“Ronny…” she scooted over to sit beside him.

“I’m sorry…” she said squeezing his hands.  Ronny couldn’t help as the tears streamed down his eyes. He hugged Rose crying, he knew that he had no chance against Jesse but he had to try at least for the sake of protecting her. And when  sera had marked him everything went downhill. He knew that history was going to repeat itself and his chances got really slim.

He was ashamed of what he just did. He didn’t want Rose to see him like that. He pulled away from the hug.

“For years, I tried being the ideal son he wanted but I hadn’t realized that he hated my very existence.”
