Y/n is in the infirmary. His eye has been scarred. The magic of Thor's attacks causing a more permanent wound that he couldn't regenerate.
Y/n was back in action before his team. But until they recovered, he wasn't allowed to go on any missions.
Y/n found himself walking Vale. Finding himself in a park and sitting on a bench.
He looked at his feet. Until he heard a familiar voice.
Ruby: Heyyy Wolfie.
He looked up and saw Ruby leaning herself downwards to his level. She saw his eye for the first time and had a slightly concerned expression.
Ruby: Your...eye.
Y/n: Oh. Um...it got hit by thunder. I guess whatever causes that thunder can do some permanent damage.
Ruby plopped herself down next to him. She felt an anger brewing inside her. A type of rage she couldn't explain or describe. But she calmed herself and focused on Y/n. She kissed his cheek softly before whispering into his ear.
Ruby: I saw you kill Amber.
Y/n's eyes went wide.
Y/n: I...I...I had to.
Ruby let out a small smile as she kissed his cheek again.
Ruby: Oh I know...you don't have to defend your actions to me.
She wrapped her arms around his neck.
Ruby: I love you, Y/n. You know that...right?
Y/n: Yes.
Ruby smiled and guided his head against her. Holding him against her.
Ruby: I wish I could tell you that Ozma didn't have the next fall Maiden. But he does. It seems Jaune's girlfriend has that power now.
Y/n stayed silent.
Ruby looked at Y/n who seemed to be half asleep. It was apparent that Y/n hasn't been sleeping well since that day.
Ruby: I got an idea! Come on.
Ruby got up and led Y/n by the hand as she took him to a safe house she uses from time to time. Nothing fancy. Just a simple bed.
Y/n: Ruby. Where is this going?
Ruby: Nowhere you wouldn't like. And you look dead tired. So come on.
Ruby leads Y/n to the bed and he laid down with her. She pulled him against her. Despite the size difference. She made sure Y/n was resting his head into her. She then proceeded to stroke his hair.
It didn't take long for him to fall asleep in her arms with his arms also around her.
Ruby: There we go. Rest. I think you earned a nap.
Meanwhile a storm was brewing.
Ozma: I grow tired of failure!
Thor stood in front of Ozma's throne unfazed.
Thor: He is a tough wolf. I thought he was dead.
Ozma: What do I need to do in order to kill that wolf then!?
A voice speaks up from the shadows.
?: You sent those that didn't know how to hunt monsters. And expected them to succeed.
Ozma: Please elaborate then, Marduk.
Marduk steps out of the shadows.
Marduk: You sent me to deal with the scorpion when you should have sent me to deal with the wolf.
Thor: Then why didn't you kill him?
Marduk: Because I do not kill the weak. Only the strong. For it brings me no joy.
Thor chuckles.
Thor: I like this one.
Marduk: It does not shock me you don't know me, Thor.
Thor: Don't take it personal. I don't know a lot of the old hunters.
Marduk: I will kill the wolf. By now the wolf understands that sometimes one must die. Which makes him worthy prey. Now I will not only take joy in killing him: I will remember him for the rest of my life.
Marduk walks away.
Ozma: Finally. Some initiative.
Lu Bu walks into the room.
Ozma: What do you want, mercenary?! I have no patience for you!
Lu Bu threw a knife that only missed Ozma's head by half an inch.
Lu Bu: Listen to me and listen good! I grow tired of the Han holding me back. I was not allowed to participate in the battle of Beacon. I want the wolf!
Ozma looked at Lu Bu and then to Thor.
Ozma: Hmm. Since failure has seemingly become so common. If Marduk fails. You will be the first to know.
Lu Bu: Very well then. When your hunters fail again. I will handle it myself.
Lu Bu walks away.
Thor: Reminds me of myself when I was young.
