It was Monday night by the time we had packed everything, mostly just blood, extra blood. Ughhh I hated the stuff, but I would do anything to stay with her. “Aaron are you sure you can trust that killer?” “Okay first off that was super ironic, and second I’m not sure who I can trust” She placed her hand on my shoulder, sending chills through my body. Randy and Lily were just finished packing when the door swung open. “I’m coming with you!” It had to have been what I dreamed of only that much hotter in person. “Okay—Tha—Owwww” I grabbed my arm rubbing it where Amber had pinched me.
“Ahhh Princess, good to see you” She smirked and put her hand on her hips. Amber merely looked past her, although the anger was quite real. She wanted to claw out her eyes and leave her blood untouched, but the fight clearly wasn’t worth it. “Don’t tempt me you psychotic bitch” The air was getting harder to breathe, two totally gorgeous chicks fighting. Oh yeah. Guys amazing let me tell you. “Haha, you don’t scare me one bit” “Let’s go Aaron!” Nearly ripping my arm off she dragged me successfully to the elevator.
Downstairs she was waiting, still waiting for my answer. “It’s Aaron’s decision that I am concerned about, not yours miss thang” Another intense stare off, I felt Amber’s nails dig deep into my arm. “Uhhh…well you are old enough to make your own decisions, but I’m sure if I told you no, you’d tag along anyway, so it’s your own choice” Randy shot me a thumbs up, I had managed to save what little else there was in Diana and mine’s friendship. “Fine then I guess I’m going” “Fine then I guess I’ll have to deal with—” I covered her mouth and lead us out the door into the bitter night.
“Aaron you wimp!” She held tightly to my arm, cutting off all circulation. “I’m sorry I’m not what you expected, but she is my friend” I released my arm, when Diana found it appropriate to grab onto my other arm. It had become and all out frenzy. “So you are dating the princess?” “Yeah I guess I am” “Well I hope you know that she is going to kill you after all of this is over” I gulped, feeling Amber’s golden eyes searching for mine. I looked down at Diana, her brown bob tucked neatly under her bandana. She smiled up at me and who but I couldn’t get as lucky as to have gorgeous women fight over me. “Well I don’t believe that” I looked at Amber her pink glossy lips curved into a very seductive smile. “Really Aaron, don’t you though?” “Diana I don’t”
“Aaron you really have grown up” Diana was actually so beautiful; I flicked a piece of hair out of her face revealing those wonderful swampy eyes. “I guess I did” “I’m glad” Amber linked her fingers with mine. I breathed into the cool air, the tension had finally died. The streets had become silent, there was no shots from the guns or even screams from vampire or human. It had gotten too quiet or we just weren’t in the city anymore.
“Princess, we need to be careful. This is rogue territory” Catherine’s voice had been sharp and direct. We crept around the forest, trying to make as little noise as possible. I kept my mind focused on Roger and if he’d have enough food to last him our trip. “Catherine, uhhh if this is rogue country—what exactly lives here. I mean being rogue and all?” She turned to look at me, her blonde curls dangling caressing her face. “Basically vampires who don’t listen or cannot control their powers or are sent into Level G” Diana walked next to me continuously scanning, “Can I shoot them?” “Yes” I took a deep breath and looked back and hoped Randy would be okay with Lily and Roger. “Aaron are you sure you can handle this?” ‘For the love of God, no I can’t!!!’ “Yeah the sooner we get this done, the sooner I can get some coffee” It had made them laugh a little and eased the tension.
Everything was grey, brown or both grey and brown. The trees hung low and smelt of rotting flesh, and they felt like flesh. Everything in that forest moved. Dead or alive. “Are you sure this is the only way?” Before I could finish my sentence we were being attacked by large creatures, with long black claws and bulking bodies, they were dark and had deep blood red eyes.
“Yeah it is” Catherine had transformed into one of the Level G beasts but she was beautiful in a way, long thick blonde mane. “Watch the princess!” I ran towards Amber who was about to be attacked. Razor sharp pain shot through my back, I felt its nails dig into my flesh. “Amber are you okay?” After that there wasn’t really anything I could remember. “Aaron—hey I need you to squeeze my and if you can hear me” I squeezed and opened my eyes to a crying vampire.
Okay so I woke up with a major splitting headache and wasn’t fully conscious of where I was or had been. Quite frankly I had hoped it was all just a dream and I’d woken up in heaven. “Yeah so about that coffee?” She smiled at me, near choking my aching body to death. “Aaron don’t you ever do something that stupid again!” “What did I do?” She turned around and went to lean on one of the flesh feeling trees. Catherine intervened, “You did what I told you to do, I commend you” Diana looked up and smiled; “Way to go soldier” I looked at Amber. She would face me or look me in the eyes. It was super lame, but I’d do anything to protect her.
“We’ll have to camp here. Its getting dark” “Dark—how can you tell night from day?” Catherine gave me a death glare and I readily lay my head down on some moss I had gathered. “Goodnight everyone” “Night” Everyone got quiet, everything got quiet, it was that type of uneasy quiet that made it impossible to sleep even if you were exhausted. It was there that I went for a walk and Diana made a plan. I felt hands wrap around my mouth, “Aaron this is too dangerous for you”
“What the hell are you doing following me?” I whipped around almost brining Diana down with me. “I’m saving our lives” She pointed back to where we were sleeping with her cross” “Are you that crasy to believe she is going to do something?” “Are you that crazy not to believe that she won’t?” I looked past her, I watched Amber sleep on a bed of moss and covered in my jacket. I couldn’t believe she would do anything to harm anyone. “Diana, what do you want? Just leave her alone. Please don’t hurt her” She walked up to me, placing her cool hands uncomfortably down my pants. “You” she bit the bottom of my lip, and kissed down my neck.
