Maybe she was joking? No that look in her eye told me, there was more to this vampire thing than I thought. There were two sides to that world. Those who preyed and those who'd hunt. I went to my spare room, the room where I hid my shameless obsession. The walls were covered with anything vampire related, from sitings to deaths, to kills to their favorite blood types. "Roger," I stood in the middle of my room with my hands grabbing at my dusty hair. "This is going to get real bad, real  fast."

I hadn't realized the time, I woke up on my floor. It was 5 again,  damn job was going to kill me. I had gotten my first letter, I was shaking while opening it. For some reason it just excited me to know that people wanted to know what I thought.

Dear Average Jo Aaron,

I've got what you say a special gift. My mother thinks I'm crazy. I told that our neighbor was in trouble and she'd scoffed, two days later there was an ambulance taking poor Ms. Summers to the morgue. She locked me in my room, there it happened again I saw my mom on the floor dying because she hand't taken her medication. I told my best friend to run in and check. Again I was right. My mom sent me away to a home, and since then I've been able to pin point exact events. I don't want to be a freak, I just want my mom to understand I'm still human and I'm still the same daughter she'd raised. Help???

Sincerely Mystic Me

So what do you say to that, I believed all things supernatural and thought that was way cool. She wants my help not to read about me blabbing on about how awesome she is. The only thing I could think of was her eyes, those honey eyes. I pulled out the card and red her name: Amber Drake.

I revved up the computer and searched her. There were no Amber Drake's in the whole city. This was serious, I wasn't crazy. I decided to check the obituary. This papers been running since the early 1800's that could give me something. Again I typed in that familiar name, 'Please find me.'

I looked behind me, no one. It was eight already, no one was at the office except me and the files. I searched through the D's until I hit Drake.

Aubry, Audrey, Amy, Anna, Arlen, Adam, Autum, Agustine, Austin, Alfred, Amber.

Died in forest, found covered in blood, no one knows whose exactly. A vampire hunter. I pulled the file out, there were those eyes. Those same eyes I'd seen so many times in my dreams. "Well I'll be damned if I'm not crazy already." I sat in my chair and leaned back, reading her file. 'You believe in me, so find me.'  Her voice was like sex in my ear, I had never heard someone talk to me like that. I was excited completely, but scared that if I'd found her, she would think I smelled delicious. I fell out of my chair, and looked around. I grabbed the files and took off.

I didn't sleep that night, I was flooded with images from her past, she was entering my mind. Weakening her pray. I read about this, I didn't actually think it was possible. One day I'm an obsessed  nonbeliever the next I'm being hunted down by an obsession and my co-worker catches and kills them. This was a backwards, upside down, hopeless love triangle.

I got to work late, there was more mail for me and a pink envelope. My name was written on it in gold cursive, it was beautiful almost electrifying. I opened it first, slowly carefully pulled out a tiny little card. It was like the one from college.

'Believe' was on one side the other read 'Tonight'. I felt a presence behind me. It was that jack ass Nathaniel.

"What do you want Nathaniel." He crinkled his nose like someone has overdone their perfume.

"Hey man its Nathan. I thought we were cool." He stood back arms up like he'd tried not to foul in a basketball game.

"What do you want?" He shrugged off, hands in his pockets. He walked off like I'd hurt his feelings.

I was going to die at twenty-one. I never had a one night stand. I'd never gotten drunk in Vegas. I never went to a Gentlemen's Club. I never got married, I never had kids. The things I'd been missing out on. I was scared I couldn't do it all in less than 10 hours. I was going to die, young and completely alone. The black sheep would stay the black sheep for until forever.

I read the rest of my mail, keeping my mind off the impending doom that I'd be facing. There were a few great letters that I could not wait to sink my teeth into . I laughed nervously at my own joke. I changed the whole subject entirely in my mind. Baseball, that was always fun. Get a good Home Run and win the championship.

'Run run run, I'll still find you.' She laughed at me, I could hear the seductive laugh ringing in my ears. At least I'd be killed the only way I read about, by fangs.
