Blue's POV

"Ashton!" I called for him across the courtyard.

He turned around searching for where the sound came from and I waved. When he spotted me a small smile made its way onto his face. I ran over the grass trying not to look like a baby bird that was attempting to fly and quickly caught up to him.

"Hey," I managed to get out while steadying myself by holding onto him. I am really unfit!

"Hi. How are you on this fine day?" He chuckled.

"I'm good. What's up with you? You're overly cheerful today, considering its a Monday morning." We started walking, I'm not entirely sure where to, but I'm guessing to where he was going before I stopped him.

"Well... There's a certain person that's looking especially cute on this lovely morning. And did I mention that she agreed to go out with me?"

"Such a charmer. I look like I just ran a 20 mile marathon. That's not cute at all."

"Well that doesn't matter to me," he answered with the biggest grin on his face.

"Ash? Can I make a request?" I suddenly felt bad for saying yes without knowing if I truly liked him too.

I took his silence as a yes and carried on, "Can we take whatever this is slow? I'm still trying to figure myself out and what my feelings for you are exactly. I don't want you to have false hope and let you down later on."

"Sure. I'll wait. Can I still take you out this weekend though?"

"Sure," I gave him a small smile, "Well I've got to get to class before Mrs Walker shoots me death glares every 7 seconds."

I quickly gave him a hug and I must say he smelled amazing.

...

Delta and I met at a small cafe on campus instead of joining our friends for lunch like we normally did. I felt bad for lying to them but we had no other choice.

"So Vanessa was pregnant, we don't know who the father is, she was dating Mitch but was seen with Michael and according to Ashton she dated a lecturer that had a motive to kill her? And with nothing other than poison," I was still trying to let all the information sink in.

"That is correct. But nothing is adding up. Everything is so up in the air and half of it aren't even facts," Delta was writing everything we knew down, trying to find links.

"I agree, there is a lot of information here but nothing we can work with to find the murderer."

"Okay, say she was dating this lecturer and she broke up with him for Mitch, where does Michael come in?"

"Maybe she was tired of the old guy and started fooling around with Michael. He could even be the baby daddy," I joked even though it wasn't an appropriate time.

"Haha, very funny. I'm being serious, Blue. And I don't think that Michael is even capable of doing that."

"Yeah, yeah, I know. It's just that everything is so confusing. Why the hell did the killer have to be so smart as to use poison? It's the most difficult thing to track. The only way we could is if we had a sample from her system and find a match with a possible suspect. We don't have a possible suspect or the sample."

"Blue, you making my head hurt. Let me think about this. We need to get someone who knows more about this case."

The silence that followed was deafening. Both of us trying to figure out where to go from here. The question playing in my mind was who could we trust but also knew anything that could help us even the slightest bit.
