Blue's POV

Today was the day. My date with Ashton.

It was Friday afternoon and I just walked out of my last lecture for the day. I texted Ashton to find out the details of what was going to happen.

I must admit that I was a teeny bit nervous about it. Never in a million years would I have guessed that I was going to go on a date with Ashton. We were really good friends but it was still quite unexpected.

I wasn't sure how I was supposed to act and concentrate with all the information about the investigation swimming around in my head. Also since I still wasn't too sure what I felt for Ashton.

As I walked up the old concrete steps outside of Alpha Rho my phoned beeped. I pulled it out and saw I got a text back from Ashton.

Picking you up at 6. Dress nice, we're going to Roberto's. See you soon.

It was currently 4:33 pm so I had approximately an hour and a half to get ready.

Once I showered and washed my hair I pulled on a black high waisted skirt, a black crop top with white patterns and a red woolen jersey. I put my long wavy hair into a side ponytail with loose strands around my face since it was too short.

I looked at myself in the mirror unsure of my reflection but there was a knock at the door. I grabbed my black heels and bag and raced to the door.

"Hi!" I yelled a bit too loud.

"Hey, you look nice."

...

We arrived at Roberto's after an awkward 20 minute ride. It was silent for the most part, besides a few questions here and there. I'm not complaining but I hoped for it to be more comfortable. This wasn't the same talkative, hyper Ashton I knew.

"Table for two, please," Ashton asked.

"Right this way," a lady with too much makeup and a pasted on smile said as she led us to a table in the corner.

The restaurant was very classy. It was filled with what looked like important business people and overly priced food. This is not at all what I expected.

"Anything to drink?" The waitress asked once we were seated.

"I'll have a Coors Light and a Strawberry Daiquri for the lady," Ashton responded and she walked away.

"How did you know my order?" I questioned.

"Well, there's a lot I know about you."

"Nice to know that I'm on a... that I'm out with a stalker."

He just looked down not saying a word. Nice one, Blue.

The night went on with awkward small talk and a few silences while we ate. There wasn't much to find out since we've known each other for a while now. Before this he was so easy to talk to but all that has changed and it doesn't feel all that good.

...

"Sooo, that was something," Ashton spoke as he walked me to the door.

"Uh, yeah," I wasn't sure how else to reply.

"Look," Ashton stopped walking and turned me to face him, "you're a great girl, Blue. I really enjoy spending time with you but once I finally asked you out I expected this to be a whole lot different. I see now that we're good together, but just as friends. I hope that you feel the same way."
