I took a deep breath before entering the kitchen where everyone was sitting in a sort of stunned silence. It had only been about half an hour since everyone besides the Midnight Dead Body Burial Squad and Luke had left Alpha Rho.

"This makes no sense," Ashton finally broke the silence as I took a seat next to Calum, grimacing as he involuntarily tensed up.

"Yeah, it was way too easy. Something's not right." We all raised our eyebrows at Luke agreeing with Ashton. Even Luke seemed surprised.

Michael scoffed, grabbing all of the attention from the subtle Luke-Ashton moment. "The last time I checked, Morris was at the top of your suspect list as well. I'm sorry, but I don't see anything wrong with this arrest. The bastard had it coming."

"Is no one going to bring up the not-so-subtle threat we received last night?" Charlie asked, noticeably anxious. Her hands were shaking a little, and she kept running her fingers through her long red hair, which seemed more dull than usual. She had successfully kept calm about the situation the previous night, but now that all the guests were gone, she didn't have to hide her fear any longer.

Blue suddenly put a finger to her lips, motioning us all to be quiet. A few seconds later I heard the distinct sound of stilettos hit the tile just outside the kitchen, followed by a particularly cheerful Penelope.

She looked a bit taken aback as she entered the full kitchen.

"Why do you all look like someone just died?" She asked, before making her way to the fridge and grabbing the orange juice.

We all exchanged a worried look, unsure of what to do.

"We just heard about Morris' arrest." Charlie decided that there was no point in keeping secrets, an outlook I wasn't willing to imitate at all.

Penelope's grip on the jug tightened, but she quickly rearranged her features to seem indifferent.

"I, personally, think that he was arrested for the wrong murder," she finally said before filling a glass and taking a sip. Clearly she thought that Morris was just as responsible for Vanessa's murder as we thought he was.

"But we don't know if Stacey is dead, let alone murdered," Luke pointed out. Obviously Luke didn't know how wrong he was. We knew just how dead Stacey actually was. But it was slightly suspicious that Penelope seemed as if she knew more than she was letting on, which could definitely be unnervingly dangerous for the rest of us with just a splatter of blood on our hands.

She replied by laughing, a high pitched noise that almost resembled glass wind chimes. But the noise was a lot less attractive.

"She's been missing for too long to still be alive. Don't fool yourselves, kids." And then she was gone.

Everyone went silent, each of us experiencing the remnants of the icy chilling atmosphere left behind by Penelope.

"Hey guys -" Riley entered the kitchen, clearly not expecting the stunned vibe. "What's up with the creepy writing on the wall? Did you have too much of a good time last night?" She joked, not yet understanding the intensity of the situation.

Charlie sighed before walking to the door. "I need a break." And then she left as well.

"Was it something I said?" Riley glanced around the room, unsure of what to do next.
