Chapter 14- Being apart

~Daryl's P.O.V~

I found my way back. I knew Merle followed me but I didn't pay any attention. Once I made it back I noticed Rick battling walkers. Then I noticed maybe dozen walkers in the field. I helped Rick kill the walkers, once we did we just stared at all the walkers in the field. We walker inside and immediately they locked Merle in the cell block while we were in the hallway where the cells were at. I immediately walked to Haley's cell

"Daryl" Rick spoke as I stopped in my tracks and turned around. I knew this wouldn't be good. His voice was raspy

"Where is she?" I asked

Everyone simply stayed silent

"She dead?" I asked looking at Rick

"We don't know" Glenn said almost whispering

"Either she is or she ain't!" I yelled pacing

"Daryl, as far as we know she's alive" Rick said

"What happened?" I asked slowly calming down

"We found buckets of water outside that we dropped. She was getting water from the back of the prison. Glenn found a puddle of chloroform a few feet away" Rick explained

"Taken by who?" I asked getting worried. Then I remembered her telling me the story about the men that were after her "Nevermind, I got it" I began walking up the steps and to the top of the cells

"How are we going to deal with this? The governor swooped in here like nothing, what are we gonna do?" Maggie asked

~Haley's P.O.V~

"It's sure nice to see you again Haley" The man spoke

I breathed heavily "Stay away from me.

"Come on Haley, we're old friends remember"

I was scared, but I knew I couldn't show it. So I sucked it up and chuckled "We were never friends, get it though your head asshole"

He laughed "Oh come on Haley remember, you were running away from us. I shot you, pretty sure hit you. And I promised you I would find you again"

"Come on Jack it was wrong place at wrong time. What do you want with me?"

He slapped me couple times across the face "That felt good to do after holding it in for so long"

I chuckled "So what do you want to do huh? Kill me? Just because I ran away from your camp. Or should I say your misery in that so called camp"

"Oh sweetie, I plan to make you suffer"

"Why?!"

He grabbed my jaw in a firm grip "Because you killed my brother, he suffered and now I'm going to make you suffer"

I grunted as he held the grip, I remembered. I was trying to save myself on a run I went on with his brother, Aaron. But I didn't kill him. He got trapped and I had no choice but to leave him. But they didn't believe me. I knew all he wanted was revenge. He left the room as I coughed from the grip he had on me. He came back with a syringe. No, no. He stuck the needle in my arm as I slowly passed out and everything went black.

~Daryl's P.O.V.~

Were preparing for whats coming, but I didn't feel like doing much of anything. I just walked to my cell and sat down messing with my arrows. Five minutes flew by when Carol appeared at the doorway

"I haven't had a chance to say I'm glad you came back"

"To what? All this?" I said while looking around the cell "And Haley is missin, don't know if were gonna find her"

She entered and sat on a bucket

"This is our home"

"This is a tomb" I said

"Thats what T-Dog called it" She said looking up then back forward

I hated this, losing so many people. I was tired of it

"Thought he was right til you found me" She said looking at me

I looked at her and slightly smiled

We stayed silent for awhile until she spoke about Merle

"He's your brother, but he's not good for you"

I looked at her

"Don't let him bring you down. After all look how far you've come"

She was right, we both just looked at each other and laughed

"We're going to find her, once this is all over"

"What if we don't?" I asked

"She's not going to end up like Sophia"

I looked at her and I stayed quiet

"She won't, were going to find her"

I nodded. We have to find her. She stood up and left the room. I just sat there thinking about Haley, so many questions were running through my mind. Was she okay? Was she alone? Was she a walker? I walked out of my cell to clear my head when I walked passed Merle's cell

"Hey brother" He called out

I stopped at the doorway and just looked at him

"So who's this Haley girl you were looking for earlier?" He asked

I crossed my arms

"Oh I see, she's your girlfriend isn't she?" He asked laughing "Oh my baby brother has a romantic life ain't he"

"Shut up bro" I said

"Oh baby bro is banging someone ain't he"

"Man you don't know nothing!" I yelled while waving my arms up

"Oh come on you know I'm just messing with you baby bro"

I just looked down

"You really care about this girl don't ya?" He asked looking at me

I just looked at him "She's the only person in the world who makes me feel like me"

It was true, she was missing. And it's driving me crazy but I knew we had to take care of this governor problem. Then I'm going to find her.
