Chapter 54- A miracle

~Haley's P.O.V.~

Peaceful. That's all I feel. And Daryl's big strong arms around my waist. We woke up and freshened ourselves before we went outside into the warm sun. As everyone was walking outside, down the steps me and Daryl said sitting on the side porch

Rick slowly walked out "They said explore. So let's explore"

"Nah, we'll stay" Daryl said

Rick looked at me and I nodded "All right" He took a couple steps foward and stood at the edge of the steps "Lori and I, we used to drive through neighborhoods like this. Thinking, maybe one day" He took a deep breath "Well, here we are"

All we did was stare

"We'll be back" Rick said as he walked down the stairs

I was standing up when I kneeled down and slowly sat down next to him. I put my arms around his neck "We've come this far. You know this is nothing like the prison. But they gave a safe place here"

"For how long?" He said

"No one knows. But I do know this. We've made it through worse situations then this. We can surely made it through this"

He looked at me and I slightly smiled. I moved his bangs to the side of his face

"I love you. You know that right?" He softly whispered

I chuckled and moved my face closer to his "I know" I whispered as I laid a peck on his lips "You need a shower" I said as I moved my face back

"Nah"

"Come on" I stood up slowly "Let's go get you showered, then we go explore, meet some new people"

He stood up "Fine. But first" He picked me up bridal style and opened the door to the house. He closed it behind him as he walked up to the bedroom

"Daryl, what are you doing?" I asked giggling

He closed the door behind him and laid me on the bed. He laid on top of me and looked at me "I love you" He whispered before we locked lips. He began to move his hand under my shirt form behind as I allowed

~Carol's P.O.V.~

I walked throughout the town greeting new people. I never saw it until now, everyone here looks vulnerable. Have they even been out there? How long have they survived out there before coming in here? Everything seems organized. And the walls. Maybe this place could hold us for a long time. This could be like the prison. Safe walls, a safe place.

~Two weeks later. Haley's P.O.V.~

I walked out of the house. I breathed in the nice fresh air. We've been here for two weeks. And we've been okay. We've survived this long

"Hey, how are you feeling?" Jessie said as she was passing by

"Better, the crutches are off" I said smiling. I was finally able to walk, I slowly and barely hobbled down the steps

"That's great!" Jessie exclaimed "And how's Daryl doing?"

"He's good"

"That's good, well hey come on let's go get some food" She said

"Daryl's still sleeping so yea" I turned to the house because turning back and leaving with her

We arrived at her house and she had just finished cooking pancakes when her son sam came running down the stairs

"Haley!" He exclaimed running into my arms

"Hi Sam" I said hugging him

"That smells good mom" Sam said letting go of me

"Yea.. yea.. it does" At first it did but all of a sudden I whiffed up something that made me so nauseous. The only thing there was the food. I held up my hand and stormed to the nearest restroom. I opened the toilet and let everything out, I ate a little bit of breakfast before leaving the house, that must be what I'm throwing up. After I threw it all up I went back into the kitchen. I could feel my face getting freckles, I get like that after throwing up

"You okay?" Jessie asked me

I nodded "Yea, I'm just gonna sit in the living room for awhile" I said as I left and sat on the couch with my hands just shaking

~Daryl's P.O.V.~

I woke up to see an empty spot next to me. She must've gone out, I went to the restroom and came back to see the crutches were in the same place. I stood up and wondered all around the house

"Haley are you here?" My voice echoed throughout the house I walked outside and passed by a couple houses until I saw her come out of Jessie's house

"Hey. I got worried I didn't see you next to me when I woke up" I said as I greeted her with a kiss

"It's okay I was just with Jessie for awhile" She said

"Are you okay? Did you throw up?" I asked regarding the small doted freckles on her face

She nodded "Daryl"

"What? What is it?" I asked becoming really concerned

She took a deep breath "I-"

"Hey guys!"

We turned to see Rick. He motioned for us to go with him. I turned back and looked at her

She shook her head "It can wait. Come on" She charged toward Rick with me behind her

"What's going on?" I asked as we approached Rick

"We were thinking about going out. Getting some air. Not getting weak" Rick said

We nodded "Um, I think I'm gonna stay" Haley said

"Everything okay?" Rick asked

Haley nodded and began to walk back to the house. I turned back to Rick

"I think you should stay. Take care of her. She doesn't look to good" Rick said

I nodded knowing he was right. He walked away and I began to walk to Haley. She was sitting on the steps and beginning to cry and cry. I sat next to her "Hey, hey what's wrong?"

She sniffed and looked at me with her red puffy eyes "I'm pregnant" She whispered
