Chapter 26- 29 days without an accident

~Daryl's P.O.V~

After we walked out of the first council meeting I walked up to the only tower we had left and kept watch. Soon nightfall came and they build a small fire as people surrounded and just simply talked. I watched as Haley sat down and Glenn sat next to her. She smiled as she spoke with Glenn, something he said made her laugh and smile so big. It made me smile. I loved to see her like that. I decided to go down and see what was up. I climbed down from the tower and approached them. I stood across from Haley behind the people that were sitting down. Glenn took out a guitar and handed it to her.

"Sing us something" Glenn said

It got most people's attention but others kept on with their conversation

"Oh no" Haley said smiling

"Oh come on please" Glenn said

Haley took the guitar and chuckled. She took a deep breath and played with the strings I'm guessing testing them. She took another deep breath before beginning to strum the guitar. It shut everyone up. All eyes turned to her. Haley simply looked to the ground when she begun singing

I had a dream about a burning house
You were stuck inside, I couldn't get you out

She sang so beautifully. Her voice just drew me in. I'm pretty sure it drew everyone in. As she sang she looked around then she looked at me and locked her eyes.

See you at a party and you look the same

For the first time in a long time I smiled. I smiled so big because of her. Everything about her I love. Her voice. Her smile, laugh. The way her cute little dimples show everytime she smiles. What Glenn told me awhile back, I agree. I care more about Haley then I care about me. She smiled at me as she continued singing.

The flames are getting bigger now

When she finished the song it was silence. All you could hear was the crackling of the fire. Then all of a sudden everyone around began clapping. I'm completely and utterly in love. She had such a big smile on her face it made my heart melt. Afterwards I walked up to her

"Hey" She hugged me and pulled away

"Come on" I whispered in her ear and grabbed her hand

She giggled and followed me. I walked up to the tower. We made it to the top and looked out at the grass and woods barely filled with walkers moping around

"Thought we would keep watch together" I said smirking

She chuckled "Oh really?"

I softly smiled and brushed a piece of hair behind her ear. Our lips touched and electricity flew throughout my body. My arms wrapped around her waist and I pulled her close to me. I felt her smile without breaking the kiss and I picked her up as she wrapped her legs around me. This girl is my everything. She's my poison, my drug. I deepened the kiss as I laid her down gently on a blanket that was there. I raised my hand up her shirt and she giggled before I took off her shirt.

-The next morning-

I woke up and looked next to me and smiled. This moment was just perfect. Haley just looked perfect when she was sleeping. I stared in amazement of how beautiful she looks.

"Your staring" She said with her eyes closed

"I'm gazing" I said smiling

She opened her eyes and smiled her beautiful smile "Morning"

"Morning" I chuckled "How did you sleep?"

"Ugh perfect" She said stretching with the blanket on top of her

I lightly laughed "I love you"

"I love you too Dixon"

I kissed her nose then roughly kissed her neck joking around

She laughed "Daryl"

I moved my head back to hers and chuckled. She raised her hand and ran her thumb over my cheek. Just before we were about to kiss again we heard yelling. It sounded like Rick. Way to ruin the moment Grimes. I groaned as I stood up shirtless but I had my pants on. I looked out to see Rick, Glenn, and Carol by the titled bus laying on the ground

"You coming?!" Glenn called out

"What?" I asked

They all began to laugh

"You coming?! We got another meeting!" Glenn shouted louder

"Yea, be right down" I said before walking back in

Shit. We were caught. Haley finished putting her clothes back on and she laughed

"We're we caught red handed?" She asked

I nodded chuckling as I put my shirt back on. Afterwards we laughed it off as we walked back down. We began walking to the cell block. Another meeting in these two days. Something can't be right.
