When I wasn't training, the only thing I could really do was be around the base. I could talk to others, help prepare for battles, but my favorite was helping others prepare their weapons. I got along with everyone well, but I especially loved being around the Pyro. Him and I got along really well. I discovered after meeting him how much of a child he really was, which to me was really fun. Nobody wanted to be around him much, mostly because nobody could understand him, between trying to speak to him and his obsession with fire. They called him a freak. A "thing". To me...I would only describe him as misunderstood. Kind of like myself.

Tonight though, being alone was all I wanted. I managed to escape outside, hoping to do some more training and be a little better and faster by the time Scout and I hit the practice room again. I didn't take a weapon with me. I left them in my room and walked outside, bolting from the door and down the stairs before anybody could see me. I followed the rail tracks to the border line between our base and the BLU base, making sure I stayed well away from enemy sight.

For almost an hour I ran back and forth between point A and point B that I labeled with lines in the ground, each time trying to improve my speed, improve my breathing, and just try to keep pushing myself further and further. Each time I rounded the corner I would try to find new ways to move around.

"Stay alert." Soldier's voice said in my head. "We would rather you come back to the base in one full piece."

The dark of night was approaching as the moon took its place in the sky. It was getting harder and harder to see my lines, so I decided that one more run wouldn't hurt before I went back to the base for the night.

I kicked dirt over my first line as I took a breath, taking off as fast as I could towards the other line. As I rounded the corner I gasped, caught off guard as pain shot through the front of my body, ramming into a figure that was waiting for me at the other line. He gave a grunt as my legs gave out and I buckled to the ground.

I fell on my back, gasping for air as I looked up at who I had run into. As he gained his composure, I realized it was the Spy from the base. He looked stunned to see me, and I was just as stunned to see him holding his Revolver in his hand. He looked me over for a second, frowning and looking like he was about to yell at me.

"What on earth are you doing out here?" He asked sternly enough to make my pounding heart drop in my stomach. Out of an entire explanation, my racing mind cut it much shorter, so only one word came from my mouth.

"T...Training.." I stuttered.

"I could've shot you. I thought a BLU was sneaking around our base, hearing you running all over the place at this time of night." this time he sounded much calmer, but still having that edge to his voice that made me realize how cautious he was about what I had done. I felt instantly ashamed, but at the same time I couldn't breath. My heart was in my throat and I was still panting like a dog. He honestly spooked me, and it didn't take long before Spy frowned, staring at me. He held out a hand to me and I took it. As he pulled me up, I never realized how much I was shaking until he looked at me, looking concerned, yet again, not saying a word.

"I...I'm sorry..." I nearly whispered. He shoved his hands into his pockets, nodding his head for me to follow him before turning to walk away. I rubbed my arms and followed him. Maybe he was mad at me...

As he escorted me back to the base, I felt something warm embrace me from behind... a blanket being put over my shoulders. I uttered a quiet and embarrassed "thank you" as I wrapped the blanket tight around myself. I was confused as to why he'd given it to me, but it didn't take long before it hit me.

I was still shaking...

Spy thought I was cold.
