Chapter 4: The Beach and The Party

I'm walking towards my car as Joey stops me.

"You can come with Meghan and I you know," he says, a friendly smile etched on his face.

"Oh, thanks," I say as I walk over to his car.

"So Katie how was Australia?" Meghan asks me as we all pile into Joey's car.

"I was so cold before I left, my face almost fell off," I answer.

"Really?! I thought it was always hot in Australia!"

"Yeah, it is, in summer it gets to like 45 degrees," I say.

"That's so cold though." Said Meghan confused. I remember that it's Fahrenheit in the US and to them, I just said hot was like 12 degrees Celsius.

"Whoops, sorry, I forgot it was Fahrenheit." Joey and Meghan laughed.

We continued to talk until I got to the beach. I got out my camera and started vlogging.

"I'm back guys. I can't wait to spend the day at the beach!" I continue to talk until Joey says that Jimmy has arrived.

"Katie, this is Jimmy, Meghan's boyfriend."

"Hi!" I say.

"Hi, nice to meet you," Jimmy says back.

"And Jimmy this is Katie." We all talk and then Luke and Ingrid eventually arrive. Joey introduces me to them, and then the boys run off into the water.

We sit and watch them splash around, and we start to laugh. After a while, we begin to calm down and talk.

"So Katie, what's your job?" Ingrid asks.

"I'm a Youtuber," I say proudly.

"Cool, so are Luke and I. Are you going to playlist?"

"Yeah, I was gonna move here next month, but I wanted to do Playlist, so I came early," I say.

"Are you liking it here?" Meghan asks.

"Yes, a lot. The weather has been nice. Much better than it is in Australia right now."

"It's so cool that you're from Australia!" Ingrid says.

"It's so cool that I got to met you guys," I say. I take out my camera and continue vlogging.

"So, Ingrid, Luke and Jimmy are here. The guys are having a water fight." I point the camera to the boys then face it back to me. "And they left Meghan, Ingrid and I all alone on the sand," I say. I point the camera at Meghan and Ingrid, and they both do sad faces then I stop recording.

After a while, I decide I need to buy food. I say goodbye to everyone. Then realise I should've taken my car. I choose to take the bus back to the apartment then take my car to the shops.

Two hours later I have plenty of food and other things that I did not need. I check out my stuff and head to the car. I get into the car and turn on the radio.

"One way, or another. I'm gonna find ya. I'm gonna getcha, getcha, getcha, getcha." I love this song. So I join in. When I get back, I carry my stuff up to my apartment and begin to put it away. It's now 7:00 pm, and I am starving. I didn't have anything besides yoghurt today. I find some chicken and fry it. I then slice it up and put it on top of a salad. Once I finish, I hear a knock at my door.

"Hey, girl!" Joey says.

"Hey, Joey."

"I forgot to ask before, but do you want to come over to my apartment, we're having kind of a party."

"Sure!" I say. "When?"

"Now." He replies. I follow him to his apartment and walk in. There are so many people here, and I have no idea who any of them are.

"Hey, guys! This is Katie!" Joey yells over everyone.

"Hey!" Everyone says.

I notice Ingrid, Luke, Jimmy and Meghan, and that's pretty much it.

"This is Shane."

"Hi."

"This is Shanna."

"Hey."

"Justine and Cat."

"Hey!"

"Whitney"

"Hey."

"Jason"

"Hi."

"And you know those four."

"Yup." I barely remember anyone I just met.

"GUYS! IT'S ABOUT TO START!" Meghan yells. We all sit down, and I am feeling perplexed about what is happening. Why are we watching the Amazing Race?

"Joey and Meghan. YouTube host." Phil says. Everyone cheers. Oh, I get it. We are celebrating them being on the Amazing Race. When the episode finished, people began to leave. I was one of the last to leave.

"Thanks for coming on such short notice Katie," Joey says.

"That's fine!" I say.

"Bye!"

"See ya, Joey!"

I go back to my apartment and edit today's vlog. I manage to get it uploaded to YouTube by 1 am. I add the annotations. And go to bed, I read for a while before falling asleep.
