Chapter 16: What Happened?

The ambulance came and picked her up. I was allowed to go in the ambulance with her, which was good. I'm anxious about what may have happened. Why was she unconscious?

When we eventually arrived at the hospital, the hospital staff rush Katie into a room, and I am left impatiently sitting waiting for some news.

Finally, after at least an hour, a doctor walks up toward me and begins to talk.

"Katie has passed out. She's been unconscious for approximately three hours due to lack of food. There is no food inside her. It is most likely the result of a lack of appetite due to stress. There isn't anything wrong with her as far as we can tell, but we will continue to run tests to make sure."

"Will she be okay?" I ask.

"She should be, yes, but we need to find out why there is no food in her, and the only way for us to determine that is by asking her when she wakes up."

"Okay, thanks." The doctor walks back to Katie's room. Lack of food? Why? Was she not eating anything?

Katie's P.O.V.

Where am I? I appear to be in a hospital; there are tubes attached to me. One is pumping in food. Finally, I'm eating, kind of.

"Oh good, you're awake." The doctor says as he walks in.

"What happened? How did I get here?"

"Well, you fell unconscious due to a lack of food. Also, as to how you got here, your friend Joey called an ambulance." Joey?

"Thanks."

"We need to ask you a few questions."

"Um, ok." I wonder what they'll ask.

"Why was there no food in your stomach?" The doctor asks.

"Well, suddenly out of nowhere, whenever I ate, the food would just come back up," I replied.

"Oh, okay. Well, the food seemed to stay in." The doctor walks out of the room, leaving all on my own. I wonder what the time is? Also, why did Joey go into my room?

Joey's P.O.V

After a few minutes, the doctor comes back out.

"Good news, she is fully conscious again, and her body is accepting food." Thank goodness!

"Can I see her?"

"Yes, of course." I walk to the room that Katie is in.

"Hey, girl."

"I don't know if I wanna talk to you yet." I was expecting that, but I continue to talk.

"I came to talk to you, before. But, you didn't answer. I thought you were ignoring me, so I went in. I found you lying there, and you weren't responding to anything." There is an awkward silence until she spoke.

"What did you want to talk about?" She asked, clearly not too thrilled about my presence.

"What happened at Disneyland."

Kaite's P.O.V.

My heart dropped.

"What."

"Well, I'm sorry for leaving like that, I just... I... I don't know... I want to say that... I'll think about it..." WHAT?

"Huh?"

"I'll think about it." Does that mean that he wants to be my boyfriend? I'm so confused right now. All I know is that I may have a chance with Joey.
