Emma's POV

Jessica had taken to pacing the room after the kid left, holding her head in her hands and pulling her hair. She was mumbling to herself, looking like she was on fire.

There might as well be smoke coming out of her ears, Emma thought, shuddering.

Emma sat on her bed with Alice and Olivia, who were whispering things to each other while looking at Jessica with concern shining in their eyes.

Emma shut out their thoughts, because she couldn't take all the weight of their pain together. They were all thinking the same thing anyways, what do we do now?

She prepared herself to lose them, she prepared herself to go go through another loss. It was unbearable, the pain she felt heating up in her body, all burning up until it turned into the white hot ashes of anger.

"Are you crying?" Olivia asked her, looking concerned.

She lifted up a shaking hand to her pale face, just to feel a tear sliding down slowly. She wiped it up quickly, blinking the tears out of her eyes before shaking her head.

Alice, who had seen our conversation opened her mouth to speak before a loud crashing noise interrupted her.

Suddenly, puffs of black clouds surrounded her, and the last thing she heard was a faint cry out before the world went black.

______

Olivia's POV

When Olivia woke up, it was to the nibbling of a little rat on her leg.

The first thing Olivia thought was, Thank gosh.

She could talk the rat into nibbling through her rope. Looking around, she could see that her friends were still in their drugged sleep.

The only problem that she could see was that the rat didn't seem to like her idea.

It was actually laughing at her, and it was making Olivia angry. There was nothing she could say that would change his mind.

"Having fun here?" A deep voice questioned behind her.

She was sitting in a small wooden chair tied by her hands, waist, and feet. So that's why when she tried to swivel around, her heart nearly stopping in fear, the fair dropped her to her side with a painful thump.

The voice laughed, and she craned her neck upwards to see his face, but it was just a mask.

Olivia's face paled to an almost vampiric color, and she was trying really hard not to cry.

"Oh, love," he whispered, bending down to touch her face as she flinched away, "Don't cry, you'll be out of here soon."

Although her moth wasn't covered, she couldn't bring herself to speak, out of plain terror for her life.

He picked up her chair to the way it was before, pushing it harshly. She didn't dare make a sound.

He got up and walked away to a control panel, and that's when Olivia finally got a hold of her surroundings, seeing that they were encases in a box with metal frames and glass for the sides.

The man had walked out of a glass door into a smaller room, which consisted of control panels so complicated, even her dad wouldn't have the slightest idea of what to do. He had taught her all she knows about computers.

After closer inspection, Olivia noticed little black boxes with pointed tips facing the four of them.

The only thing that Olivia could describe them as were tiny lasers, with red lights almost too faint to notice.

She turned to her left to hear a loud cry and a terrified face with wide open eyes, filled with... Regret?

_____

Jessica's POV

Jessica jolted up with a start, and when she saw the place of her nightmares. It was the place that nobody deserved to be.

"Ahh, my darling!" He said, coming into the room from the glass doors.

She shuddered as he came nearer, and she could feel his smile under the mask.

"How nice it is to see you again, lovely," he chuckles.

Jessica stared straight at his mask, uncaring, unfeeling, and full of regret.

He was trying to make her break, but she wouldn't let him. Not this time. Even though she knew it was already too late.

They said nothing to each other for what felt like a lifetime, just until right when Alice and Olivia woke up.

________

Alice's POV

When Alice finally awoke along with Emma, they looked at each other and then at Jessica and the strange man, then at Olivia, who looked like a ghost.

Alice quickly tried turning into a mouse, to scamper away and hide, but nothing happened.

She tried again. And again. Until she was desperate and crying and screaming out as a scream Emma tried to calm her down.

The strange man took large steps from Jessica, straight to Alice. He grabbed her by the shirt collar until his face was nearly pressed against hers.

She could feel his breath tickling her neck and face.

Luckily, his face is covered by a mask, she thought.

"Your powers don't work here, girly. You can try all you want. I don't mind watching you suffer," he whispered agonizingly quiet.

After a second, probably to make sure she understood, he let go of her shirt collar.

He left the room in complete silence, except for the clicking of his polished shoes on the hard, metal floor.

He started tapping rapidly on the keyboard, which enclosed us all in darkness. It gave us a scan, an ex-ray, and many more things that Alice still didn't understand.

At last, a black smoke filled the room, and her world went dizzy before she blacked out.
