I panted as we made our way up the mountain. Without a horse, or wagon it was up to our legs to take us. Wal, our apparent new party member was trailing behind like some sort of cat. Every time he stepped with in six feet of me, Kakashi was shooting him a death glare.

"You have to talk to me at some point!" He whined like a child.

I glanced at him then Kakashi, I wish I could say I was getting used to him being here... but I wasn't. This boy, who was clearly not a boy, scared me.

Kakashi looked down at me with worry. "Wal, say further way." Kakashi demanded sternly.

Wal scuffed in disbelief. "Why because your slave is scared?"

Kakashi growled. "She is not a slave, you worthless piece of shit."

Wal raised his hands and turned, walking away a little bit more. "Sure whatever."

I rolled my eyes and ran my hand over the handle of my blade. "Kakashi? Who is he?" I asked finally once I couldn't see him anymore.

"He is a pain in my ass, that's what he is." He mumbled; he helped me up the trail more before talking again. "He is my sibling, my coven sibling."

I stopped staring at him bewildered. "You have a brother?!" I asked, astonished.

Kakashi snorted. "He isn't my human brother; we share the same master. There... are rules." He whispered, looking back into the forest where Wal had vanished to. "It is hard to keep track of him; his power is like that. He is able to change his presence but not his form." He sounded like he almost pitied him.

He shook his head. "Not completely, he is trapped in that form forever." He said it looking down at me. "I will explain once we are safe, just know we are not able to kill each other."

I decided not to push him any further. He switched between walking ahead and walking behind me. It grew dark quickly, and soon he was picking me up. We strode through the silence; the darkness here seemed to be deeper than any forest before. A thick fog blocked out the moon light. Wal, I could feel him nearby, but he didn't speak again.

"Brace yourself." Kakashi whispered.

I held onto him tighter as he jumped up and suddenly, we flipped, making my head spin. The fog was gone, and we stood in front of an ancient-looking temple. The place looked abandoned, while the building stood in perfect condition the plants around the area looked dead and starved. Skulls stacked around the main door; other bones scattered around like a beast had been using them as toys.

I paled and tried to breathe as I stared into the voids where someone's eyes used to be. I felt like a wall of something it me all at once, leaving me winded.

Kakashi glared toward Wal. "Clean this up." He snapped and kicked one of the skulls at his head. Wal caught it and rolled his eyes. "Whatever."

I closed my eyes not wanting to see any more of it.

"It's okay now, we are inside." He said it softly as he put me down on my feet.

I opened my eyes and was thrown off by the elegance of the inside, it was like a palace! The nicest building I had ever stepped foot in. I was frozen, unsure if I could move in a place like this.

"Relax, its safe here." He whispered, hugging me to his side.

My thoughts went to Wal, right... safe. I looked down the long halls, there wasn't even dust. "This is where you had been?" I stopped looking back at him in astonishment.

He looked around as if it were nothing, as if it were dirt on the ground. "It may look pretty but this place was a prison for a very long time." He was upset, or angry... simply stating a fact. He smiled a little, looking tired. He looked around, gesturing down a hall. "Come on, you can finally get a nice bath and get some food." He lured me down the hall with the promise of comfort and food.
