Chapter 16
Teamwork Dreamwork

Clones of Naruto were scattered about the field seeming to all be operating independent of his chosen teammate Sasuke, who looked positively fed up.

Dust clouded the air from the movement surrounding the grey haired Jonin, specks of dirt and mud splattering about, decorating the grass and clothes of the three battling.

Kakashi had his book in hand and lazily dodged every attack aimed at him, evading every single trick and attempt to grab for the bells. All while taunting the two as much as he can.

It was half time now, the small clock he had set on the middle of the three worn wooden beams ticking quietly.

The man was starting to worry for team girl. He had sent clones out on recon within the first ten minutes, to see just what the two were up to. When the memories returned into his mind, he got flashes of them bickering and fighting amongst themselves.

He had expected something like this to happen. He knew each of these two pairs would clash greatly.

Naruto and Sasuke had remained fighting with their whole hearts from minute one, not that Naruto gave the poor Uchiha much of a say otherwise.

With a deep sigh, Kakashi decided it was time to stop toying with them, shuffling his book back into his weapons pouch and locking onto the two boys, easily discerning which of the Naruto's was the origin of the swarm.

With a swift string of hand signs and a flurry of movement, the clones were all destroyed and the two boys were now attached to each other with a length of rope. Tied face to face in hopes of inspiring a more meaningful plan.

"I think you guys need to talk more about your strategy here." Kakashi taunted, leaning over the two. "With the way you're going, I'll be sending team boy back to the academy in no time."

The threat hung over the two boys with a towering impact. The pair locking eyes, seeming to click onto the same wavelength finally. But it was too late now, as Kakashi disappeared into the woodland where he had last seen the two girls bickering.

He snuck up as quietly as he could, hearing them long before he could see them. They were still arguing.

"No no no! That will never work how could you even suggest that!" Sakura squeals, her face red with anger.

"Well I don't hear you coming up with anything bitch!" Ace screams back, her own face flushed with rage.

Kakashi was disappointed. He had high hopes for Ace joining this team. He had heard from Iruka the type of student she had been. A very promising and independent young woman had been his words.

He could see now that independent might not be what this team actually needs.

Pulling a small round ball out of his pocket quietly and smoothly, he drops it inbetween the argument from above. The little pellet passing straight through the eyeline of the two, distracting them finally from their heated words.

The two girls freeze, looking down at the ball in horror.

A plume of thick grey smoke fills the area the two had buckled down into. "Crap!" Ace cursed.
