"You're late," the voice startled me from my slumber. I sat up in my bed, yawned, and rubbed at my eyes. I saw a face at my window. Actually, in my window. Clawd was hanging from my window, his body against the siding of my house, his arms crossed over the window sill, his head resting on them. I looked over at my alarm clock, 7:05.

"Sorry. Give me a minute," I said, getting up. I slipped my slippers on and walked over to my closet, grabbing on my above the knee dresses and my knee high pink boots. I walked into the bathroom and shut the door. I think that this would seriously be the only morning that I wouldn't wear any make-up. It took about fifteen minutes for me to do my make-up on a normal morning and I didn't have any time to waste. I got dressed and walked back out of the bathroom to find Clawd now in my room.

"Mind meeting me outside? My father would kill me if he knew I had a boy in here. Especially a werewolf boy," I said as I opened my bedroom door. By the time I turned backward to face him, he was gone, as if he had never even been there. Within seconds, the doorbell rang through the house. I waved to Count Fabulous, as I did every single morning, and walked downstairs. I felt like I was about to have the same exact conversation with my father that I had had yesterday morning. He stood by the door with his arms crossed, staring at me.

"I swear, Dracualura, if that boy comes around here more than today...." I held my hand up to cut him off mid-sentence. I didn't want to listen to him talk bad about my friends.

"He's walking me to school, Daddy. That's all it is. Clawdeen isn't coming to school today so he's walking with me. You should be happy, you know. You always said that you didn't want me walking to school alone. Now I have a boy, a werewolf boy, to walk me there and you're angry?" I walked past him without saying goodbye. I shut the door and walk alongside Clawd. Of course, I felt horrible for what I had just done, but, sometimes, my dad just needed to grow up. This was how the world was now, I went to Monster High. What was he expecting from me? To hate all of my classmates?

"Your dad really hates me that much?" Clawd asked as we walked. I looked up at him.

"You heard him? Everything?" He nodded his head slowly, still walking. "I'm sorry that you had to hear that. That's what kind of world he was born into, Clawd. He doesn't get along with any monster that isn't a vampire. He only wants me to hang out with vampires. Same with him wanting me to start drinking blood again. It's disgusting that he thinks I can just change my lifestyle in one day," I said with a sigh. Clawd turned his head to look at me.

"Aren't you asking him to do the same exact thing? You want him to accept you for who you are, a vegetarian vampire who has werewolves for friends, but you won't accept him for who he is? I'm not saying it bad, but it kind of makes you a hypocrite," our conversation stopped there, leaving an awkward silence between the two of us. "Hey, you're welcome to sit next to Deuce and I today at lunch. So that Heath will leave you alone for one period."

"Really? Thanks. I appreciate that."

"Of course. He doesn't have the right to treat you like he owns you. That's not how a woman deserves to be treated," Clawd said. He looked down at me and smiled. "You look really pretty without make-up on. You go with the natural look more often," he said quietly, opening the school door for me, letting me walk past him. He gave me a quick hug at my locker before he headed for the stairs for his first period class.

"You dating the wolf, now? I'm pretty sure that I asked you first," the smile disappeared from my face as I heard Heath behind me. I turned around of stare at him.

"Clawd is like a brother to me. But, he treats me nice and saved me from you yesterday. He doesn't care about the whole dating game, you know. He just wants to be my friend."

"Well, whatever's going on between you two, we are still going to the dance this weekend," I rolled my eyes but still nodded my head. I just wanted to get him away from me.

"Good. Talk to you later, hot stuff."
