In the lunch line, the only thing I was trying to do was find Clawd. He had said that I could sit with him, so where exactly was he?

"Hey, Laura," his hand touched my shoulders and a smile crossed my face.

"Hey, Clawd. Am I still sitting with you guys?" Clawd nodded. "Thanks. I appreciate it."

"Sure thing. Burns bothered you any today?" I rolled my eyes at the questioned and nodded. "Now what?"

"I told him I'd go to the stupid dance with him. I needed to get him away from me. So, I agreed to go with him," I said quietly. Clawd frowned and shook his head.

"I'll fix it. I'll make sure he gets the point that he doesn't own you. Alright?" I nodded, grabbing a milk from the fridge and grabbing a salad from the counter. I followed Clawd and Deuce back to their normal lunch table and sat down. The first couple minutes of the lunch period was just all of us sitting there in complete silence.

"So, Draculaura, Burns is bugging you?" Deuce questioned. Clawd slapped his forehead and shook his head at the stupidity of the question. I still nodded with a slight smile so he wouldn't feel dumb.

"That's the reason she's over here, Deuce," Clawd said, picking at his food with a fork. "So, how about next time you see Heath by your locker, text me before you get there, deal?" I nodded, sticking a forkful of my salad into my mouth. For what it's work, I was amazed that Clawd had suddenly started caring about me. The thought in my mind happened to be about if Clawd liked me the way I like him. The more I thought about it, the more it made sense, and the more I realized that Clawdeen would kill the both of us if I dated her brother.
