Clawd was now stuck at my house. He had walked me home almost an hour ago and ended up being stuck here on lockdown. The whole town was on lockdown, not just my house. Van Hellscream had left town for almost three hours but had come back with his niece, Lilith and her goons. As a group, they were all looking for monsters, looking for one to catch and take. My dad had called everyone and told them to turn off their lights, close their curtains, and lock their doors. And that was why Clawd was now stuck here.

For the whole time he had been here, we had all been sitting on the floor in a giant circle in almost complete silence. Clawd, my father, Uncle Vlad, and I had been sitting down for an hour.

"I'm getting hungry," Clawd whispered to me. I nodded, resting my chin on my hands. I looked at my phone when it lit up. It was now five o' clock and Clawd and I hadn't had anything to eat since about seven this morning. I was hungry, too.

"Daddy, can I please get something from the kitchen?" He looked up at me from the book he was reading. He looked at Clawd and then back at me.

"Take the wolf with you. Just incase," I nodded and stood up.

"Do you want anything?" My father shook his head and so did my uncle. I was more than certain that the main reason was because all they would want was blood. And there was no way I was getting them that.

"What're you hungry for?" Clawd reached past me and opened the fridge. He took out the chocolate milk, setting it on the counter. He opened the freezer and then shut it, looking at me."

"Don't you people have ice cream here? I thought that with a teenage girl in the house, you'd have to have ice cream," I smiled and walked over to him, openings he freezer door. I dug my hand into the back of the freezer. I handed him some chocolate ice cream and walked over the cupboard, grabbing two bowls. I took out some chocolate syrup, caramel, not fudge, sprinkles, and chopped nuts. If I was locked inside of a house for several hours, I was going to pig out on ice cream. Clawd pretty much did exactly what I did, but added some chocolate milk to the mix of it. I put everything back and walked back into the living room, Clawd following closely behind me. We sat back down and slipped back into silence. I slowly brought the spoon up to my mouth, watching my father as he watched me.

"Can I help you?" I questioned, looking at him as I set the spoon back into the bowl. He shook his head and put his book down.

"I'm just amazed that you can live off of that," I rolled my eyes. "Well, I mean the whole vegetarian thing. It's stupid, Dracualura. Just be a vampire. Please?" I opened my mouth to speak, but Clawd beat me to it.

"In all due respect, sir, she is a vampire. That can't be changed, whether she drinks blood or does not. Even though she's not like you, she's still a vampire. She's her own person, unique. And you wouldn't imagine how much she has to go through in a day because of who she is. She handles it so well, the way she's picked on, and you should be proud of her for that. You know, in all due respect," Clawd continued to look at my father until he broke eye contact, first. He took a deep breath and picked up his book again. Clawd looked at me and smiled. I mouthed "thanks" and went back to my ice cream. My phone lit up.

"How much longer are we going to have to stay like this?" I asked, looking up at my father. He looked at me over the brim of his glasses at me.

"Until they all leave, dear," it was his only reply. I think he was having trouble comprehending what Clawd had said.

"So, we really have no idea?" He shook his head without looking back at me.

Sorry, Frankie. No idea. Dad says we just have to wait it out.

"Why did you ask?"

"Frankie wanted to know," I replied, finishing out the text to Frankie. "Oh, looks like we've made the Ghostly Gossip," I turned my phone to face Clawd. He laughed slightly.

BREAKING HEADLINES - VAMPIRE AND WEREWOLF COUPLE NOW! CLAWD AND DRACULAURA!

"I'm amazed it took her this long to find out. Normally, her stories are out a second after it happens, not several hours," Clawd said, sticking he last spoonful of ice cream into his mouth. I nodded, standing up.

"Where are you going?" My father questioned, grabbing my hand when I walked past him.

"Just to the kitchen, Daddy," he let go of my hand and went back to his book. Clawd followed me into the kitchen.

"Thanks for defending me. I mean, he's my dad, and he does mean well, but, sometimes, he just knows how to push my buttons. You know?"

"I know exactly what you mean. Try living with werewolves, sweetheart. More difficult then you might think. They," he chuckled, "they know how to push your buttons," he put his bowl in the sink and rinsed it off.

"I would imagine so," I stood on my tiptoes and kissed his cheek as I rinsed off my own dish. I froze as the shadow made its way along the window curtain.

"One of them is outside," I whispered. I grabbed Clawd's hand and ran back into the living room, making no sound whatsoever.

"What's wrong?" My uncle looked up at me in question, his expression filled with worry.

"We have to go upstairs, now. They're right outside the house," I said, moving toward the stairs. My father stood up, shutting his book. He went over to the fireplace and extinguished the fire before following me. He stopped me before I went into my room, grabbing my shoulder.

"I'm trusting him to take care of you if something happens. You come get me if something feels off, got it?" I nodded, giving him a hug before he headed for his room. Uncle Vlad followed him, turning at the second door instead of the first, going into his own room. I walked toward my bed, throwing myself onto it literally half a second before Clawd jumped at me.

"Whoa!" He exclaimed as he moved threw the air. His body shifted as he tried to grab the bed before he hit the ground. Well, he did grab the bed, for what it was worth. The mattress flew out from under me when he grabbed it. Even I went up in the air. I hit the metal frame of my bed and burst out laughing, a quiet laugh to keep safe from Hellscream. Clawd stood up, rubbing at his neck.

"God, that hurt," I giggled and stood up, grabbing one side of my mattress and pulling it back onto my bed. Clawd picked up the other end and lifted it up onto the bed. He reached over the edge of the bed and grabbed my arms, pulling me across the bed. He jumped up onto my bed and wrapped his arm around my waist, pulling me up to his side.

"I have a feeling that there's not going to be school tomorrow."

"I'm assuming not, Laura. Even if there is, I'm not letting you go. Your safety comes before anything else."
