Ishqi closed her eyes tight, clenching Rajveer's shirt. When she heard no sound, she slowly opened her eyes. Rajveer was still sitting, unaffected, while the masked man's hands were held by a bodyguard and the gun lay beside him.
The masked man's eyes widened in shock as Rajveer smirked, despite being shot. Rajveer laughed and said,
"Are gajab admi hai tu yar... Tujhe kya laga tujhe mauka milte hi tu mujhe goli mar dega aur mai aise hi mar jaunga? Tujhe kya laga ye koi serial chal raha hai, ho tu mujhe goli marega and background me dhumtananana wala music bajega?"
(What a strange person you are... Did you think you'd get a chance to shoot me and I'd just die? Did you think this is some TV serial where you'd shoot me and dramatic music would play in the background?)
"Munna ye real life hai yahan Aisa nahi hota, asal duniya me dimag name ki jo cheez hai na uska istemal kiya jata hai and mai bhi usko istemal karta hun... Ye jo jacket dikh rahi hai na ye koi normal jacket nahi hai bullet proof jacket hai... Aur Rajveer Rajawat ko jo itni asani se mar sake wo abhi tak paida nahi hua hai"
(This is real life, kid. That's not how it works. In the real world, we use our brains, and I do too... This jacket I'm wearing isn't ordinary; it's bulletproof... And no one's been born yet who can kill Rajveer Rajawat so easily)
The masked man's eyes blazed with rage as he growled and tried to escape.
"Kosis mat kar, bekar me energy waste hoga, aur tujhe to bad me mai khud niptunga,"
Rajveer said, his teeth gritted in anger.
(Don't bother trying; you'll just waste your energy. I'll deal with you later.)
Rajveer ordered his bodyguards to take the man away. As they dragged him off, Ishqi tried to get down from Rajveer's lap, but his hold tightened.
Without a word, Rajveer stood up, carrying Ishqi, and walked towards the car. In the car, Ishqi tried to move again, but Rajveer's grip remained firm. He sat down with her on his lap and ordered the driver to head to the mansion.
As the car moved, Ishqi looked at Rajveer, but he stared ahead. She pressed a button, and a soundproof glass shield separated the passenger seat from the driver's seat.
Ishqi wrapped her arms around Rajveer's neck, her touch igniting a spark within him. She whispered softly,
"Ab to koi nahi dek raha, ab to meri taraf dekhiye..."
(Now no one's watching; look at me now...)
Rajveer's eyes, filled with emotion, finally met hers. In that moment, Ishqi saw the depth of his love, a love that surpassed words. Rajveer's face crumpled, and he buried it in her shoulder, his body shaking with sobs. Ishqi held him close, her heart overflowing with love and adoration. She felt his tears on her skin, and her own eyes welled up with emotion. In this intimate moment, Rajveer's love for Ishqi was palpable, a love that made her his everything, his oxygen, his reason for living.
As they drove home, Ishqi gently stroked Rajveer's hair, trying to calm his emotions. After a while, they arrived at their mansion, and Rajveer slowly composed himself. Ishqi wiped away his tears, and as she prepared to get out of the car, Rajveer's gaze locked onto hers, silently asking her to stay.
"But gharwale dekhenge to kya sochenge," Ishqi whispered, her voice barely audible.
(But what will our family think if they see us like this?)
Rajveer smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners.
"Gharwale dekhenge to dekhne do... Mai to apne Gharwali ko hi leke ja raha hu na..."
(Let them think what they want... I'm just taking my wife home.)
Ishqi playfully slapped her forehead, a smile spreading across her face.
As they stepped out of the car, their family greeted them with happy tears in their eyes. Dadi performed the arti ceremony, blessing the couple as they entered their home. The family surrounded them, eager to see Ishqi and ensure she was safe. However, Rajveer didn't linger, swiftly taking Ishqi upstairs to their room.
Finally, he let her go, gently placing her on the bed. Ishqi's heart skipped a beat as she met Rajveer's gaze, the air thick with unspoken emotions.
As Rajveer turned to leave, Ishqi grasped his hand, her eyes silently asking him to sit beside her. He complied, his face downcast. Ishqi gently placed her palm on his cheek, guiding his gaze towards hers.
"meri taraf dekhiye," she whispered softly.
(Look at me.)
Rajveer's eyes met hers, brimming with tears. The moment their gazes locked, he broke down, embracing her tightly. Ishqi closed her eyes, tears welling up in her own eyes. She quickly opened them and began to gently stroke Rajveer's back.
"Shhh...shhh... Itna nahi rote aa gayi hu na mai... Bas bas ab sab theek hai... Shh...sh..."
(Don't cry so much... everything is fine now...)
Rajveer wiped his tears and looked at Ishqi, his voice filled with emotion.
"Tumhe pata bhi hai ki tumhare bina kya halat ho gayi thi meri, tumhare bina ek pal bhi nahi reh sakta mai.... I am sorry I...I... am really very sorry mai tumhe usdin protect nahi kar paya."
(Do you know what state I was in without you? I couldn't bear a single moment without you. I'm sorry, really sorry that I couldn't protect you that day.)
He took her hands in his, touching them to his forehead and then kissing them. Ishqi smiled gently, placing her palm on his cheeks.
"Kaun kaha ap mujhe protect nahi kar paye.... Agar ap mujhe protect nahi kar pate to kya aj mai apke samne baithi hoti?"
(Who said you didn't protect me? If you hadn't, would I be sitting here with you today?)
Rajveer tried to interrupt, but Ishqi squeezed his hands and continued.
"Ap ko bhi chot lagi hai dekhiye... Agar koi piche se ake hamla kare to hum kya kar sakte hai... Par apne to time me mujhe thik bacha liya... Agar apki awaz na sunti us din washroom me to... to...ab tak to mai marr..."
(You were also hurt... What can we do if someone attacks from behind? But you saved me just in time... If I hadn't heard your voice in the washroom that day... I would have been die....)
Before she could finish, Rajveer placed his palm on her mouth, his face filled with terror. He hugged her tightly, as if he'd never let her go.
"Aisi bat dobara tumhari muh se ani nahi cahiye," Rajveer said in a hard tone.
(Don't ever say that again)
"Okay, okay," Ishqi replied with a small smile.
They separated, and Rajveer walked towards the closet, returning with Ishqi's clothes.
"Jake fresh ho jao," he said, handing her the clothes.
(Go freshen up.)
As Ishqi headed towards the washroom, Rajveer grasped her hand again.
"Tum akele kar logi na?" he asked, his tone laced with concern.
(You'll be okay alone?)
"Ji... Ab agar ap mujhe chodenge to na jaungi change karne," Ishqi replied playfully.
(Yes... If you let me go, I'll go change.)
But Rajveer wasn't ready to release her.
"Are chodiye to sahi... Mai bas abhi gayi aur abhi ayi,"
Ishqi said, gently freeing her hand and stepping into the washroom.
