The hall glowed with golden lights, crystal chandeliers scattering brilliance across the marble floor. Laughter and music hummed in the air, but for Ishan Malhotra, every sound blurred into one sharp pulse. His gaze was locked—unyielding, fiery—on the sight unfolding before him.

Shree.

She stood there, radiant in her soft wine-colored gown, the satin clinging delicately to her waist before flowing out like rippling water. The curls in her hair bounced lightly as she moved, her lips curved in that unrestrained smile that reached her eyes. She wasn’t even aware of the storm brewing in the man watching her from across the room.

Ishan’s jaw clenched. His glass of wine tilted in his hand as he watched the tall man approach Shree, bow slightly, and extend his hand with a charming grin.

Shree hesitated, laughed softly, then placed her palm in his.

Something inside Ishan snapped.

His grip around the glass tightened until the veins in his hand stood taut. He forced himself to stay seated, to not storm across the dance floor and tear her away. She can dance with whoever she wants. Why should it matter to me? But the thought rang hollow, his body betraying him with every muscle strung in tension.

Naaaaa hai yeh panaaaa !
Naaa khona ! hi haiii
Tera naaa hona jaaneeee
Kyuuun honaaa hi haiiii
Tum Se Hi din hota haiii
Surmayi shaam aati hai....!!

The music swelled, a waltz, smooth and fluid. The man placed his hand gently at Shree’s lower back, guiding her into the first step.

Ishan’s teeth ground together, his molars aching. The sight of another man’s palm pressed against that soft fabric, against her—it burned him alive.

Shree, unaware of the storm rising in Ishan’s chest, moved with grace.

Tum Seeee Hi    Tum Seeee Hi

Har ghadi saans aati hai
Zindagi kehlati hai

Tum Seee Hi     Tum Seee Hi.......

Her gown swirled around her as the man spun her, the rich fabric fanning out in a perfect flare.

Na hai yeh panaaaa
Na khona hiii haiiii
Tera naaa hona ! jaaneeee
Kyuuun hona ! hi haiiiii
