Chapter 2: Strange beds

Lyndy and Lily's pov: The next morning we both woke up and had breakfast. We had very yummy pancakes today made by our mummy. While we were eating she called DIY Derek who is a handyman/ painter, he was coming over this afternoon to paint our bedroom ceiling. After lunch we went up to go and see him.
Lily and Lyndy: Hello Derek!
Derek: It's you two again, smiley and Lucy.
Lyndy: We aren't smiley and Lucy.
Lily: We're Lily and Lyndy!
Derek: Oh! Yes, silly me! How could I forget? Lily and Lyndy.
Derek's pov: Pointing to the girls with the wrong names.
Lily: No! The other way around!
Derek: The other way around?
Derek's pov: Facing the window and points to the corners.
Derek: You mean Lily and Lyndy, that way around?
Lily: No.
Derek: That's not what you meant was it?
Lyndy: Nope. But what are you doing?
Derek: Well now I've been painting the ceiling. Can you see that?
Lyndy: Yes.
Lyndy's Pov: Yesterday the water was dripping through our bedroom ceiling from the roof, but our dad fixed it. So Derek is painting where the leak happened so it looks clean instead of very damp.
Lyndy: Can we help you Derek?
Lily: Please.
Derek: Of course you can, as it's now my home time. So that means you two can help me tidy up.
Lily: Okay.
Derek: One of you can hold my roller while I wipe my hands.
Lily: Me! me! me!
Derek: There you are, you hold that.
Derek's pov: Hands Lily my roller.
Derek: Right, thanks Lily.
Derek's pov: And wipes my hands.
Derek: Now, I'll show you where to put it so we don't get a mess everywhere, OK?
Lily: Okay.
Lily's pov: put it where he told me too.
Lyndy's pov: Our bedroom doesn't look like our bedroom today.
Derek: Now then, what do you think Lyndy?
Lyndy: Our bedroom looks funny.
Derek: Ahh yes. That's because it's covered in dust sheets.
Lyndy: What why?
Derek: It's so I don't get paint everywhere, you see?
Lyndy and Lily: Yes.
Derek: Lily can you help me put the lid on the paint, here?
Lily: Yes of course.
Derek's pov: Lily helps me.
Derek: Push it down as hard as you can.
Lily's pov: Pushes down hard
Derek: There you go. That's good, well done.
Lyndy's pov: Goes into the dust sheet.
Lyndy: Lily under here.
Lily: Where?
Lyndy: Here in my den.
Lily's Pov: Goes underneath also.
Elliana's pov: Walks into the bedroom and sees Derek packing up.
Elliana: You finished painting?
Derek: Hi Ellie. No unfortunately not, I'll have to come back and give the ceiling another coat of paint.
Elliana: So the twins can't sleep in here tonight?
Derek: Unfortunately not until the paint dries as it can be harmful to their young bodies from the fumes it is bringing off.
Lily's Pov: Whispering to Lyndy so that they can't hear us.
Lily: If we can't sleep in our bedroom tonight, then where are we going to sleep?
Lyndy's pov: Whispering as well.
Lyndy: I don't know, Lily. 
Derek: That's me done for today, so I'll help you tomorrow.
Elliana: Thank you Derek.
Derek's pov: I leave the room and leave. As I leave I see Jentzen outside and fill him in.
Lyndy: Mummy?
Elliana's pov: Sees them under the dust sheet.
Elliana: Oh, hello sweeties.
Lily: If we can't sleep in our bedroom tonight, then where are we going to sleep?
Elliana: Well we haven't got a spare bedroom, so we will have to think about something else. But don't worry girls, I've got an idea.
Lyndy: So have I...
Elliana: Oh, what is it?
Lyndy's pov: Runs into mummy's and daddy's room with Lily.
Lyndy: We can sleep in mummy's and daddy's bed, Lily.
Lyndy and Lily's Pov: we got on the bed and started jumping.
Lyndy and Lily: Boing, boing.
Jentzen's Pov: Comes upstairs.
Jentzen: Hello everyone.
Lyndy and Lily: Hi daddy.
Elliana: Hey handsome.
Jentzen: I saw Derek on the way out.
Elliana: Did he tell you he hasn't finished painting the twins' bedroom?
Jentzen: Yeah, he did.
Lily: So we're sleeping in your bed tonight, Daddy?
Elliana: Oh no you're not. Come out of there please.
Lily: Boo.
Elliana: Come on, you two.
Lily and Lyndy: Boo.
Jentzen: You two are far too big to be able to squeeze in with us.
Lily: You snore anyways.
Lyndy: Like this.
Lily and Lyndy's pov: We both snore loudly.
Jentzen: You are both two very cheeky monkeys.
Lily: But where are we going to sleep, daddy? 
Lyndy: I know, I know. We could sleep in the bathroom.
Lily and Lyndy's pov: We go and get in the bath.
Lily: We're sleeping in the bath tonight, mummy.
Elliana: Are you both comfy?
Lily and Lyndy: No.
Lyndy: Not one bit.
Elliana: Well then you can't sleep in here tonight then, can you? As you both need comfy beds for a good night sleep. So my idea is that tonight we will be having a special camping holiday.
Elliana's pov: Leaves and goes to make us some food.
Lily and Lyndy: Where?
Jentzen: You'll have to wait to find out. But first, who's in for an early bath?
Lily and Lyndy: Me! Me!
Jentzen's Pov: Gives the twins their bath.
Lyndy's pov: Dad tells us behind mummy's back that our camping holiday will be downstairs in the living room.
Lily's Pov: After we both eat dinner, tonight Lyndy and I will be sleeping on the living room floor on our blow up camp beds. And I help them blow them up.
Lily: I think it's blown up enough now, daddy.
Jentzen: Ah thanks, Lily. Oh, blowing up these beds is hard work, I'm ready to go to bed myself.
Jentzen pov: pretends to fall asleep with fake snoring on the bed.
Lily: Daddy! Daddy!
Jentzen: Huh, Huh?
Lily: Wake up daddy.
Jentzen: Uh, huh.
Lily: We still have Lyndy's bed to do.
Jentzen: Okay, okay.
Jentzen's pov: Starts to blow it up.
Lily: This is taking ages.
Lyndy and Elliana's pov: Upstairs getting the duvets and taking them to the stairs.
Lyndy: Hey Lily, our duvets catch.
Lily's pov: Goes to the bottom of the stairs.
Lyndy's pov: Chucks them down.
Lily's pov: Catches them and takes them all to the living room.
Lyndy: I've got Lily moon bunny, I'm going back to get pogey the horse.
Lyndy's Pov: Gets the teddies and takes them downstairs.
Elliana's pov: Goes and the books, then takes them downstairs.
Elliana: I've got you some books to read later twins.
Lily and Lyndy: Thank you.
Elliana: Come twins it's time to brush your teeth.
Lily: In the kitchen?
Jentzen: You get to do things differently when you're on holiday.
Lily's Pov: So we got ready to sleep in the living room and that's what we did. We put on our pjs and got into our camp beds.
Lily: Is mummy still reading us bedtime stories?
Jentzen: Of course she is, I will tell her when you're ready.
Lyndy: We are ready.
Jentzen: I'll go get her.
Jentzen's Pov: Goes to get her.
Lyndy: Sh! Sh! Quiet! Let's pretend we're asleep.
Lily: Okay.
Lyndy and Lily's pov: So we decided to hide under the covers. We were being quiet and pretending to be asleep and then that's when we heard Mummy say...
Elliana: I want us to move to a bigger house.  One with a proper spare bedroom not camp beds on the living room floor.
Jentzen: I think you're right, it's time to move to a bigger house now that the twins are getting older.
Lyndy and Lily's pov: We come out from under the covers.
Lyndy: I like our house.
Lily: I don't want to move house.
Elliana: Lyndy and Lily, don't worry about the moving house talk now. As it's time for stories.
Lyndy and Lily: Yay!
Elliana: Look at you two all snuggly in your cosy campbeds. It's just like your bedroom now isn't it.
Elliana's pov: I read the twins their stories and they both fell asleep. Me and Jentzen went upstairs to enjoy our night in with some adult tv time etc. we then went to sleep early to be up for when Derek comes back. The next morning we both woke up, and made the twins some breakfast which they loved. We got them dressed and Jentzen took them to see his mum while Derek finished their bedroom and it finally got done. Then they were so happy to come home and sleep in their beds again. They slept amazingly. Then me and Jentzen went to sleep also.
