"I say we stop at a bar." I say as we drive down the road. "We only have a few more hours to go. Why do you want to go to a bar?" Caroline asks me, while shoving a mouthful of Cool Ranch Doritos in her mouth.

"My nerves are kicking in." I say a bit uneasily. She sighs and I quickly butt in before she can say anything. "I just want to go Drinking, get my mind off of this for a while."

"Elena we don't need to go to a bar. There's probably none open. Just wait till we get there you could probably find a bar there." She sighs and keeps eating. I glance over and grab a couple chips. "I used to love these when I was younger." I smile and enjoy the sweet taste of the chips.

"My favorite was the Nacho Cheese." She says with a mouth full of chips. "Doesn't seem like that by the way you're scarfing them down so quickly. Save some for me!" I giggle and take another handful.

After talking for hours and laughing, eating. We finally get to a small motel just outside the French Quarter. "Where do we start?" I ask as we walk to the small building where we're supposed to check in. "Wanna find that bar now?" she smiles and I nod, "Sure. I could go for some nerve calming liquids." I sigh and book us a room.

Once done, we walk up the stairs and find room 'B26' I insert the key in the lock and turn it, opening the squeaky door. Inside is two beds, a rustic vibe to the room, with cream colored walls. A small bathroom is at the other side of the room, along with a closet across from it. "I call the bed by the window." Care says and drops her bag on the bed. I nod and put mine on the other bed.

"Works for me." I say and change into dark wash jeans, sandals, and a floral tank top. I let my hair down and shake it out, adjusting it to my liking. "Ready to hit the streets of New Orleans?" I giggle as Caroline finishes changing. "Yep, let's get going!" she smiles and we head out, locking the door.

We start walking, thinking there will be too much commotion in the streets.

As we get more into the French Quarter, Caroline smiles. "What is it?" I ask and stop to turn to her. "Klaus was right. This place is full of music, art, culture. It's beautiful." She says in awe and looks around, admiring the dancers and the laughter of the town. I smile and nod. "Yes it is." I look around and find a bar. "Hey look, there's a bar, let's go in it." I point to it and she follows me.

We walk in and sit down, ordering some drinks. "Thank you." I say to the blonde bartender. I squint my eyes to see her name tag. "Camille." I smile and sip my drink.

After a few drinks, and some more laughter, I call; the blonde bartender, Camille over. "Can you tell me where Klaus and Elijah Mikaelson reside?" I ask her and smile lightly.

She seems a bit taken back, but clears her throat. "Uh, sure." She says and gives us directions to the place. We thank her and walk out, making our way there. "We should wait till tomorrow, we just got here! Let's go roam the streets some more." I say, getting nervous. "Ha, no, no, no. we're going now." She smirks and pulls me with her.

"Care!" I whine. "What if they're not even home?" I sigh and can't help but get dragged by her. "Elena, come on. You're not backing out now." She says and looks at me with a serious look on her face.

"Can't we go tomorrow? Come on let's go roam the streets! Explore!" I smile and raise my hands in the air. "Come on Caroline." I pout and look at her intensely. "Fine." She says after standing there staring at me. I smile widely and let of a deep breath. "Yes!" I laugh and pull Caroline with me. "Come on let's go!"

We walk around for a while, exploring what New Orleans has to offer. "It's so pretty here! And all the people look so happy. It's like they don't have a care in the world." I sigh and stand on the corner of the sidewalk with Caroline.

"Yeah, looks nice." She sighs and looks down. "Okay, let's do this." I say and turn to her. "What?" she asks and looks up at me with a confused look, the moonlight and street lights hovering over her.

"I will tell Elijah how I feel, but we are also going to make this a fun getaway trip for just ourselves." She shrugs and nods. "Okay, sounds good." I nod and take a deep breath. "Let's get back to the motel, it's really late." I say and look around.

"Yeah, but everyone's still hyped and happy." She says, a half smile creeping on her face.

We walk back to the motel and get changed. I head over to the small mini fridge under the table and grab two blood bags. I toss one to her and flop onto the bed, ripping the bag open and sucking on it.

"So, after you tell Elijah," she pauses to turn on her side facing me. "What's gonna happen then?" she asks as he sips on her blood bag. I glance over to her and shrug. "I don't know. Honestly I don't know." I whisper and go back to staring at the stain on the ceiling.

"Well, just to let you know, I'll support you no matter what." She says and throws the blood bag away, getting under the covers. "Night." She says and I glance over. "Night." I say back and lay there, everything running through my head.
