"Elena wake up." I hear and twitch a bit. "Elena come on wake up." Caroline. I turn on my other side and open an eye. "What time is it?" I ask, my voice scratchy and my throat dry. I hate the way my mouth feels in the morning. No different from when I was human.

"Good morning to you too." She says sarcastically, walking over to the mini fridge and grabbing a blood bag out. I sigh, already knowing I'm not going to get any answers out of her.

I slowly sit up and place my feet on the wooden floor. I stand up and walk over to my bag, grabbing black skinny jeans, and a blue shirt that has three buttons at the top. I walk into the bathroom and shut the door, turning on the shower.

I strip down and get in. If I were human, I'd be so tired right now. I was up half the night thinking about how I'm going to tell Elijah. How do you tell someone you like them, considering everything that's happened? How do you tell someone you like them period?

I shake it off and rinse my hair. If I keep thinking about it I'll chicken out. I've come this far I'm not going back now. I finish showering and jump out, drying off and changing into new clothes. I dry my hair and curl it, putting on light make up.

I walk back out and see Caroline sprawled out on the bed, eating a bag of chips and sipping her blood bag. "Ready to go?" she mumbles, her voice barely audible considering her mouth is full of chips. I nod and walk over to my phone. So many missed calls from Damon, Stefan, and Bonnie.

"Have you spoken with anyone back in Mystic falls?" I ask, turning to Caroline. "No, but I should tell Bonnie. Why did you get a bunch of calls and texts from them too?" she asks as she stands up, walking over to me to grab her phone.

"Yeah." I sigh loudly and put my phone in my back pocket. I put on some heals and grab my leather jacket. She slips her tan one on and we walk out the door.

"It's too early to go over there now." I groan and put my hands in my jacket pockets.

"Elena, if we don't go now, then we never will." She sighs and glances at me. "Plus the originals don't seem like the sleeping in type of people." She scoffs bit shaking her head. "Yeah you're right." I sigh.

"Can we at least get food first?" I ask, pouting. "No! come on we're going now." She says sternly and drags me with her.

Later, we reach the 'compound' I think that's what it's called. We walk in quietly, looking around. And as usual, Caroline is the first one to speak up. "Hello?" she calls, looking around.

Soon enough, she gets vamped to the wall, hand at her throat. I bare my fangs and also get slammed into the wall. I claw at the hand around my throat and open my eyes.

"Elijah?" I whisper shocked. His eyes soften, and his grip loosens. "Elena?" he whispers, just as shocked as me. "What are you doing here?" He asks softly.

"I'm sorry Caroline, I didn't know it was you." Klaus sighs. "Caroline?' Elijah turns around, looking over at her. "Elena?" Klaus asks, turning to me. "Both of you are here?" Klaus asks.

"Yep." I sigh and walk over to Caroline. "Why are you girls here?" Elijah asks, standing next to his brother with his regular poker face on. "Um..." I stutter, tapping my fingers against my thigh.

"I dragged her along, because I wanted to talk to you." Caroline butts in, but pauses. "Klaus." She finishes and glances over at him. "Niklaus, were you aware of this visit?" Elijah asks, not taking his eyes off me. I feel a bit uneasy.

"No, brother." He sternly says. "I was not aware. If I was, I would've told you." This is awkward. Suddenly, Klaus' lip twitches into a smirk. But it looks like a satisfied smirk. "Come along then love, we can talk somewhere else." He motions to Caroline to follow him.

She glances at me quickly while walking behind Klaus. I nod and turn to Elijah. Once they disappear, he speaks up.

"Elena." He says smoothly, leaning against a wooden post, one hand in his pants pocket, the other picking at his nails faintly. "Elijah." I says back, crossing my arms. I don't know if I want to tell him just yet. Should I? "So you just came to accompany your friend all the way here to New Orleans?" he asks and looks up at my, returning his hand to his pocket. "Yep, pretty much."

He scoffs amusingly, shaking his head. "What's so funny?" I ask confused. "I doubt that's why you came here. Why now why would you come all the way here, with the friend you lashed out on because she contacted me?" oh he's onto me.

I need to come up with something. Um no, you came here to tell him how you feel. Don't back down now. Elena don't do it.

I sigh, bowing my head. "Fine, you caught me. I came here because-"I pause when I hear heals clicking against the concrete. "Elijah we need to talk." Is that who I think it is? I look up and see a brunette, tall and lean, with leggings, tank top, and a knit cardigan on.

"Hayley, what is the matter?" Elijah pushes himself off the post and turns his attention to her. I see a bit of a smile crack on his face, and his whole expression changes. That's weird...

"Wait... Elena?" she pauses as she sees me. I raise an eyebrow and unfold my arms. "Hayley." I say and cock my head to the side gently. "What are you doing here?' I ask curiously.

She scoffs obnoxiously and crosses her arms. "I should be asking you the same thing. What are you doing here?"

Wow okay.

"Elena, Hayley is staying with us. A lot has happened here in New Orleans." Elijah says, not taking his eyes off Hayley. Why is that bothering me so much? It's probably nothing. "I can see that." I says as Hayley turns to Elijah.

I feel my blood boil and my hand mold into a fist. The way they look at each other. She likes him.

And he loves her. I feel my heart break. "Can it wait? I'm catching up with an old friend." Elijah smirks as he turns to me. Wow that hurt, old friend. Hayley sighs and nods, as he glances over at me. "Okay." She says softly and walks out of the room, up the stairs. He stares at her the whole time.

I've only seen him like that twice. When he thought I was Katherine. The first time we met, and when I pretended to be her under the gazebo.

"My apologizes, Elena." He says as he turns his attention back to me. He looks a bit distracted now. Shaken, I think.

"So what were you saying?" he asks and smirks at me, changing his demeanor again. I bite my lip and shake my head. "Nothing. I came because I turned it back on, and I wanted to help out a friend." I say a bit straight forward. Well that's not a complete lie. I'm not feeling myself right now.

He seems a bit taken back by my sudden forwardness, but nods. "Alright." He sighs a bit and looks down.

We stand there in silence for a couple seconds, before Klaus and Caroline come downstairs. She seems a bit off. "Well, we better get going, I wanna go explore the city more." I say and bite my lip. "Me too." She agrees quickly. "See you around." I say and look to Elijah, trying to hide my pain. "Come again, Caroline." Klaus says. She ignore him and we walk out.

We turn the corner and I run into the alley. "Caroline I want to go home." I whisper and break down. "He's in love with her." I whisper and look down. "Hayley had a kid." She says blankly. "That's impossible, Elijah's a-"she stops me. "It's Klaus' baby." I shake my head, confused out of my mind. "How?' I ask.

"Klaus was born a werewolf, so he can still procreate." She whispers and shakes her head, in denial. "I met Hayley, and I heard the heartbeat."

"Elijah is in love with Hayley." I whisper again, still not believing it.
