Chapter 33: Warning From the Stars

"Ugh..."

Hatsume slowly opened her eyes, but she wasn't expecting to find herself tied onto a chair.

'What- what is this..!? How did i get myself into this situation..!? I was working on my babies a few moments ago-'

Everything then clicked inside her head. The syringe, the injection, Sucrose and Albedo.

"It was those two..! Dammit! I never would have thought they would do this. Could they be the UA traitor everyone's been talking about...?"

"You jump into conclusions so fast, Hatsume."

The pink haired girl snapped her head towards the voice. There stood Albedo, cleaning his newly crafted sword without a care in the world. "You! You did this to me! This isn't funny, Albedo! I'm not interested in whatever experiments you have in your mind!" she spat, eyes never leaving the blonde. Albedo continued wiping the blade before putting it back on the table "Experiments are over, let's get to the point. State your name." he grabbed a chair and sat in front of her.

Hatsume sat there confused. Why would he want to know her name? He already knew after all. "Mei Hatsume- what?" the girl blurted out without a thought 'I didn't mean to say that. But the words that came out of my mouth was my name...' she stared in disbelief. Albedo nodded, feeling somewhat proud. "Well that concludes my truth serum experiment. The moment you opened your mouth, you said nothing but the truth." he smiled.

"Let's get on to the real questions now."

"Truth serum? You did ALL of this just to test a truth serum!?" Hatsume exclaimed, but Albedo's expression stayed calm. "Are you the UA traitor?" the blonde ignored his friend's complaint "No! Of course not!" Hatsume defended herself, making Albedo seem somewhat relieved "That's exactly what I wanted to hear. Next question. If i told you a secret right now. Would you keep it?" 

Hatsume scoffed, "You want me to keep a secret from YOU? The person who tied me up onto a chair and started interrogating me as if I'm some sort of criminal!? No. I won't. Now let me ask the question now, blondie. How do I know YOU aren't the traitor? You and your little friend Sucrose seem to be hiding a lot from me. Who knows? Maybe you might report this to the LOV. I don't even know if i can trust you or your words." Albedo stayed silent, staring back at Hatsume with his blank eyes.

He then stood up, grabbed the truth serum he injected onto Hatsume earlier and showed it right in front of her face "This is a truth serum. But I'm sure you already knew that." he stated before chugging down the entire beaker and wiping his mouth. Hatsume sat there, in shock to see her friend chug down an entire beaker of truth serum. "Hey! Surely that can't be healthy! Are you an idiot!? Why did you do that!" Hatsume questioned as Albedo sat back on his chair, "Now we both can tell the truth. Ask me anything."

They both sat in silence, not striking a conversation for a couple of seconds. Hatsume then opened her mouth.

"Are you going to hurt me?"

"If you attack, yes."

"Are you planning to hurt me?"

"No."

Hatsume still wasn't sure of what the blonde wanted, or what his purpose was on tying her up on a chair. "This conversation is going nowhere. I believe I've made it clear that I have no intention in hurting you, Hatsume. All I ask for you right now is to keep a secret." Albedo's voice became even serious "I'll decide if i want to keep it if you give me a good reason." Hatsume answered. "Me and Sucrose have decided that we shouldn't be keeping this secret from you anymore. But since telling someone about this secret could cause a huge problem for many people, we decided to inject you with a truth serum to see if you were the UA traitor. This isn't a regular secret that you could just tell anyone and laugh about it. By you knowing keeping this secret, you could help us with our plan." Albedo explained.
