Kumagawa, Genos and Kohina sat down on the matress as they listened to Bang's story. Every single student of Bang beside Charanko was beat to near death, making them incapable of following the part of martial arts anymore.
And the culprit was none other than Bang's best disciple. Of course, Bang had no choice but to expel this disciple.
When speaking of ability...Charanko wouldn't stand a chance. He was still able to practice martial arts because he was absent when this incident happened.
Kumagawa:[I see, so that's what happened...]
This guy must be pretty proud to do something like this. By the way Bang spoke of him, he must be a special.
All this sounded so very plus. And yet...There was something felt destinctively minus in all of this to Kumagawa.
Kohina:Well, it's not like they could do anything even if they were in perfect health.
Charanko:What are you saying!?
Charanko was appaled. Those she was speaking about were his fellow disciples he learned day by day, side by side.
They were practically brothers to him. He can't accept those words.
Kumagawa:[Calm down.]
Charanko:Huh!?
Charanko turned in shock to Kumagawa who stood beside him. His right hand gripping Charanko's shoulder.
When did he get ocer here? Charanko didn't even see him mood.
The martial arts discuple tried to move away, but he found out he couldn't. Kumagawa's hold on him was too strong.
Charanko:What the...
Charanko didn't think much of Kumagawa at first, the guy looks like a stick. And yet, how does he posses such overwhelming physical strenght.
Kumagawa:[Well, Kohina didn't word it completly. You'll have to excuse her. It's not about talent or ability. Rather, it's about their hearts.]
Charanko:Their hearts?
Kumagawa:[Yes, their hearts. Or, rather, their trauma. A normal person can't just bounce back from such a thing easily. For example...]
Kumagawa seized Charanko's wrist and forced the younger boy's hand into a fist. The minus's thumb traced the veins of Charanko's wrist.
Kumagawa:[Think abou it, trying to form a simgle punch. What would they think after such a thing? Something like...My punch is strong, but his is stronger. Wait, was it even strong to begin? He's a monster. Why if he comes back? He'll do it again! Bleeding, I'm bleeding! He'll come again! He'll come again! He's everywhere! I can't fo anything! I'm useless! He'll hurt me! Scary! What do I lose my life on!?]
Kumagawa's voice changed, making a very good impression of a person under an panic attack. Even so, his smile did not change.
Kumagawa:[That's how they'd react. Physical wounds can be healed, but mental wounds are never truly gone. People don't want to deal with scary things. It's much more convenient to turn away and act as a bystader.]
Charanko felt like his skin was burning. It felt like Kumagawa was gonna devour him whole.
This guy...What the hell is he!?
Bang:Kumagawa-kun! I'm sure Charanko understands that now!
Kumagawa:[...Ah.]
Kumagawa blinked twice. He lokked down at his hand holding Charanko's arm.
That arm was trembling. Charanko was sweating with a terrified expression on his face.
Kumagawa then let go of the boy, realized he streched it a bit too far. He laughed in a harmless manner as Charanko stumbled back.
Kumagawa:[Sorry about that. I was quite the terrible brat back in the past, you know? Well, around high school I managed to make some friends and was reformed. But, well, bad habbits persist.]
That's exactly why Kumagawa understood so well the motive for which Bang didn't have any disciples anymore. After all, Kumagawa was an expert when it came to breaking human hearts.
Bang:I see...I can't really judge you. I was quite wild in my youth as well.
Bang sighed out loud in a tired manner. He was put on alert for a moment there, but now it was clear Kumagawa didn't have any malice towards Charanko.
Bang:But you should learn not to judge a book by it's cover, Charanko. Not just Genos-kun, but Kumagawa-kun and Kohina-chan are also fellow S-Class heroes of mine.
Charanko:They are...I see...
Right then the doors of the dojo let out a loud bang as they were slammed open. Everyone in the dojo turne to see what was going on.
They were greeted by the sight of an official of the Hero Associatiom. One that looked to be quite out of breath, considerimg that Bang's dojo is situated at the peak of a mountain.
Official:Mr. Silver Fang! I'm with the Hero Association! An emergency summoning has been issued to S-Class heroes!
The official than took notice of all the people in the dojo. He looked to be relieved, probably because this made his job a lot easier.
Official:This is...Demon Cyborg, Genos! Mr. Screw, Kumagawa Misogi! One-Hit Slayer, Kumagawa Kohina! This is perfect! We were told to gather all the S-Class heroes, so you should come as well!
Kumagawa:[They're still calling me that...Haah, I just can't win, can I?]
Kohina:Hehe, poor papa...
Kohina looked at her father. But rather than a pitying look, it was a smug look.
Kumagawa:[...You're grounded.]
Kohina:Eh!? Why!?
Kumagawa:[Bullying is no good.]
Genos:Sensei, I think we should leave that for later.
Kumagawa:[Right, right. Being gronded doesn't excuse you from work.]
Kohina:It's good that I like my job, then!
Kumagawa sighed. Sometimes his daughter can be very annoying, intentionally at that.
Kumagawa:[Really, where did you get that from...Oh, right, me.]
Kohina:Hehe...But are they really calling everyone? Isn't that weird?
Kumagawa:[They didn't do that last time. Something interesting must be happening.]
Genos:This...Could it be a Dragon Level Threat?
Bang:Oh boy...Charanko, watch the dojo while I'm gone out.
Charanko:Yes, Master!
Genos:You have a pount, Sensei. If all S-Class heroes were called, this must ve something serious.
Kumagawa:[Well, don't be too tense now. We're gonna meet our co-workers. We barely know any of them. It's a social event. Let's try to get along with them.]
Kohina:I hope they bring snacks!
