Chapter 18 - A Demon's Story

Days have gone by, people were scared out of their minds. How long will this last? When will the Satanic Witch be captured? Who should be trusted? There were no breaks. Time is limited. As Delicia says "As time pass, the stronger he gets" . Everyone was worried. Beatrix, Dante, Gretel, Seth... they were all trying to come up with plans.

While Dante finishes his analysis, Gretel and Ashton looks for the book Delicia suggested them to read. Beatrix keeps Anamaria distracted while Seth keeps Maximus distracted. "I found the book!" exclaims Gretel and Ashton at the same time. They both look at each other and laugh. The book was small yet knowledgable. 4 chapters in the book. "They both have the same book cover, so it means they have the same story right?" asks Gretel. "Lets find out." Ashton says smirking.

Soon as Dante finishes his analysis he runs to the library. "Ashton! Gretel!" The librian woman shushes Dante for screaming in the library. Ashton runs to Dante "Did you find out?" "Yup...he pants catching his breath I found out." Ashton takes him to a very dark corner covered by book shelves. Gretel grabs both of their books and placed them aside on the table. "What you got?" Dante places his data on the table reading:

-9 oz sweet red wine
-9 basil leaves, fresh
-9 red rose petals, fresh
-9 whole cloves
-9 apple seeds
-9 drops real vanilla extract
-9 drops strawberry juice
-9 drops apple juice
-9 small pieces of ginseng root
-9 pink candles
-Cheesecloth or fine strainer
- 1 Pint of Poison

All of those ingredients mixed in a large cooking pot placed in a small glass bottle." Ashton rereads the list. "Are you sure about this?" "I reviewed over and over. That's why I took long." Ashton pats his shoulder. "Now the question is...how do we undo the spell." Dante's eyes widened "That I have not found out yet. I only found the ingredients used within that potion." Ashton strokes his hair thinking. "Well don't worry about it. Gretel and I will start reading the book. If we find out anything that you can help us with, we'll let you know. Dante nods and start leaving. And Dante...thanks for helping us." Dante smiles and nods.

Gretel starts opening the book. "The Demon's Heart" she sighs. Ashton massages her shoulders gently. She smiles closing her eyes and stroking his hand. She thinks to herself silently. "Come on, it'll be alright. Our answers can be right inside this book. I am not willing to give up. How about you?" She nods holding his hand "Me neither." He smiles at her "Come on." They both open up to the first chapter. "Chapter 1: The Demon Boy" Gretel reads it in her mind.

It all started with an innocent yet handsome boy. He had everything he ever wanted. He got attention, healing powers, and his education was over his head. He didn't have a thing to worry. A girl, not too young for him, about 3 years younger, caught his eye. He never went out with a girl. He was too focused on his career and his education. There was something about this girl that caught his attention. He was willing to know her. His parents were very proud of him. Then one day, something went wrong. His father's skin was turning red. Red as a tomato. His claws were sharp as a tiger's claw. While that was happening, he snapped. He went from good to evil. His father left the house. Not a single phone call in the house. The boy asked his mother if he knew what happened to his father. She smiled not knowing a thing and responded 'I have no idea at all'. Yet she knew. Everyone knew what his father was hiding. Why didn't they tell him? It'd reveal a secret what the boy might turn out to be one day.

Ashton looks at Gretel smiling at her read. She notices him then smiles back. "Do you want some coffee?" he asks in a soothing tone. She nods smiling. "Don't worry, I won't read it without you." she smirks. He grins then makes his way to the luncheon room. Anamaria walks in the library looking for a specific book section. Gretel hides the list and the books. She clears her throat and approaches to Anamaria.
