Chapter 14 - The Test

Today is the test where professors have to test their students ability. Ashton only got 2 hours of shut eye. He stayed up all night wondering what is happening to Maximus. Meanwhile, Maximus stayed in the bathroom all night as well. He never left nor finished his homework. Ashton decided to be the gentlemen and knocks on his door.

"Max? You've been in there all night. Everything alright?" Maximus was back to normal feeling calm "Yes." "Do you want to talk about it?" Ashton leans against the door. "No thanks." "Alright well class starts in 3 hours. You should finish your homework. I'm going to go eat breakfast." Maximus sighs and looks down "Alright." "Do you need me to stay for something?" "No. I think I'll go finish my homework." "Alright. I'll see you in class. Ashton leaves where he stands, thinks, then comes back. By the way, I understand what you're feeling. It's okay if you're nervous or mad, just don't let it out to someone, especially someone you love. I'm here for you when you need to talk and..I forgive you despite the fact you left me bruises. Bye..." Ashton leaves the dorm. Maximus looks at his hands disappointed "Actually you don't know what's wrong with me. I just can't help it.." He sighs disappointed.

Beatrix, Dante, and Ashton are sitting together discussing and eating breakfast. Anamaria arrives through the entrance doors looking worried. She hugs Ashton good morning giving a soft kiss on his cheek. "Have you seen Maximus? He's been acting strange." Anamaria asks to her brother while scratching her arm. Ashton swallows a slice of watermellon "He had a rough night." "Oh what happened?" She looks at her brother with full of concern. "He doesn't want to talk about it. He's okay though." Anamaria sighs face palming. "Thank you for telling me." He smiles "Your welcome. I'm sure he must be on his way." She nods then leaves the cafeteria.

Maximus arrives to the cafeteria taking an apple and a granola bar. Ashton spots his attention and decides to go to him. "You're not gonna eat?" Maximus turns to him then clears his throat "Just decided to get a little snack. Don't have much of an appetite." Ashton tries to get a better look at Maximus "You sure you're okay?" Once Maximus turns his face to Ashton, his eyes look sleepy however much normal than before "Yes I just want to pass the test. Nothing odd right?" "Ofcourse not." Maximus slightly smiles then leaves. Ashton looks at his arm and the mark Maximus left him is still there. He sighs and watch Maximus leavng the cafeteria.

Anamaria waits outside. Maximus slowly goes to her and she smiles walking towards him. She hugs him "I was so worried about you." He hugs back smiling "Yes I would be too." Maximus looks up looking evily smirking. Seth notices Maximus smirk and looks confused. "Something is weird with him." He shrugs then stands by them. Ashton arrives "Have I missed anything?" "Not yet." They shake hands greeting. "Where's Professor Prestridge?" "Right here. He gets the door unlocked. Lets hit the road!" Professor Prestridge smiles opening the door to let everyone in. "It's just a simple body and abilities skill test right professor?" "Yes, it is. You will see what goes on. I can't tell you anymore about the test." Ashton smiles understanding and goes inside. The bell rings and everyone starts running to class. Every student only has 3 minutes to get to class since it's an important day.

Final bell rings. The look on some students face are terrified. Gretel, the strong and brave witch, is a little terrified herself. Anamaria notices "You okay?" "I'm just scared if I can be something that I had no idea I was." "That's impossible for you to say. Symptoms would've been happening already. I am sure you are nothing evil because I know the person you are." Gretel smiles and Anamaria hugs her "You're a great best friend Ana." "It's my job to be one while you look out for me." They smile hugging long. "I need everyone to stay quiet. We are going to an examine room. It has 3 rooms. Only 3 people will go at a time. Understood? Now get in a line. Alphabetical order! Let's go!" Everyone rushes to a straight line. The line goes from Beatrix, Dante, Gretel, Anamaria, Ashton, Maximus, to Seth.
