Chapter 11 - An Unexpected Birthday

The blue sky is clear, the grass is pure green, and the sun has brightened the day. A girl wearing a yellow sundress, with blue eyes, and long brown hair was frolicking around the field and curling her hair around in one finger. She sees Ashton staring at the sky and Ashton doesn't notice her. "Ashton come here!  She calls his attention giggling. He turns to her and smiles. The girl giggles and continues to get his attention come here!" Ashton walks to her smiling. She was the most beautiful girl Ashton has ever seen. Once he starts getting close to her approach, the girl starts running away giggling. He suddenly lost her and looks around to find her. She covers her mouth trying not to giggle and hugs him from behind letting it out. Ashton smirks, turns around, and pins her down on the grass "Hey Beautiful.." he smiles brushing her bangs back.

She looks up at him with her ocean blue eyes smiling "Hi.." Ashton softens her cheek and looks in her eyes "God how I miss those beautiful blue eyes." She giggles blushing and Ashton smiles. "Happy Birthday Ashton.." the girl softens his cheek as she smiles. "Thank you." Ashton leans into her, then slowly..so lovingly..presses his lip against hers. "I wish it can be like this forever." She says as she softens his cheek. "Me too.." The girl sighs as she looks in his eyes "I miss you.." "I miss you even more." Ashton says smirking then kisses her forehead. "I want you to do me a favor..open your eyes..." He looks at her confused "Huh?" She smiles softening his cheek less "Open your eyes Ashton... open your eyes.."

Ashton gasps as he opens his eyes. That was the first dream he had in a long time with Skye. He looks next to himself and no one is there. Emptiness fills in his heart knowing she's not here with him. He truly misses her. It was a fantastic dream he had. He lays back and sighs scoffing "Yeah, happy birthday to me too Skye." He scoffs and stretches yawning wiping his eyes. He groans and gets off from bed.

Today is the day Ashton turns 18 years old. It's his birthday, any surprises can show up. While Ashton is washing his face, someone knocks on the door, and Maximus enters. "Hey Ash?" "Over here." Maximus sees his washing his face and drying with a towel. "Hey! Happy Birthday bro!" Maximus pulls him in for a man hug and Ashton smiles a little sleepy "Thanks Max." "Have you figured what you will be doing today since it's the weekend?" "No not really. Come on dude, it's your birthday." Ashton chuckles nervously thinking "Umm..I just haven't really thought about anything to do except maybe walk around town?" "Sure that's great because there's somewhere that your sister wants to take you. It's a surprise." Ashton nods understanding "Great well I'm going to get dressed and will meet you at the cafeteria." "Alright!" Ashton starts to get dressed.

Maximus runs to the cafeteria nervously. He gets in and goes to the table with everyone "Guys Ashton is on his way here so we must prepare things! Lets go!" Beatrix and Dante set up the plates, while Anamaria and Gretel fill every cup with coffee, and Seth and Maximus set up the food and table to look ready. Anamaria looks nervously in a rush "Dante! I need you to be on the look out for Ashton, I'll help set up." Dante gives a thumbs up and runs outside of the cafeteria. Beatrix, Gretel, and Seth help set up the table while Anamaria and Maximus clean around a bit. Dante comes back running in "He's coming!" Everyone rushes to sit down and act casual. Ashton walks in and everyone stands up from their seats "Happy Birthday!" Ashton chuckles going to them "You guys did this?" "Yup!" Seth pulls him in for a man hug. "Beatrix and Seth thought this would be a great idea to have a birthday breakfast." Dante says and Beatrix joins in "Plus I woke up early to cook everything." "Beatrix you did this? She nods smiling. Come here." Ashton pulls her in for a hug.

Anamaria goes up to her brother "Happy Birthday Ashton!" He smiles "Thanks!" and hugs her. Gretel sighs "So what are you waiting for?! Lets eat!" Everyone sits down and starts getting what they want to eat. The table was filled with fruits, pancakes, sweet deserts (donuts, cinnamon bun, jello), bread with butter, and coffee mugs. Ashton picks a cinnamon bun, bread with butter, and pancakes. Anamaria takes a bite of a cinnamon bun "Wow Beatrix! This is delicious!" Ashton jumps in after biting a peace of pancake "Yes! They are so good!" He keeps eating the pancakes. Beatrix smiles blushing "Well thank you guys. I heard I'm a good cook." Everyone joins in "You are a good cook!" Beatrix smiles happy and eats her breakfast.
