Chapter 10 - New Changes Meaning New Challenges

It's mid October, 3 months that Ashton has stayed in school. Things have changed, however, it's not a bad thing. Maximus has been spending time with Anamaria lately. On the days where they have exams the next day, they take advantage of having fun and help each other study for their exam. Ashton on the other hand, was facing struggles. It's been 3 months he's been away from home and hasn't talked to his family. He had no clue how to talk to them and tell them where he is. The school is very private on telling others about this school especially if their family members are witches. Ashton's grades are fantastic at this point, but he just didn't know how to talk to his family, and that's what he is going to figure out.

He figured out what he was going to do about it. He knows he can't have any physical contact with family until he graduates, so he is going to write a letter to them. Ashton gets out a pen and a clean sheet of paper. His heart was racing, his hand was shaking, and his mind was uncontrolled. Like the smart person he is, he shrugged it off, and had confidence in himself. So then he began writing his letter.

"Dear Grandma Amelia, I am terribly sorry I have left you worried for so long. I should've contacted you before, but I just didn't know how to talk to you. So here's the news. The good news is I finally found Anamaria and she is alive after all. The bad news is, I can't leave to go back home. I'm staying at a witch school but I can't tell you the name of it. It's a secret but believe me, I would tell you, I just can't. Anamaria is here with me and I am not leaving her site. When I graduate this school, that is when I can go back home. Right now, it is not a good time. I'm sorry I had you waiting for my response. Just know that Anamaria and I are okay and alive. This is a safe school and we are working hard to be successful. I will share more events with you later on. For now, I am studying, learning, and having good grades. Please be careful and be safe. Take care..I love you grandma Amelia. Also tell the rest of the family that I am okay, I found Anamaria, and to take care. Hope you all are okay."

For Ashton, it was the hardest decision he had to do. However, he couldn't let his family suffer more than they already have. He had to at least let his family know how he is without any physical contact. In order to send that letter, Ashton used a spell to give it to them instead of mailing. He says a spell in Croatian langauage, and the letter poofs away. Mailing would be suspicious if other people from the school see. There are a lot of things students cannot do to get to their family. Since that is out of the way, now Ashton focuses on studying for his fall interium exam. This exam is not like any regular exam he has taken, this exam includes about 50 questions and 25 of the questions is based on what he learned and the other 25 of the questions are questions he hasn't learned. His highest score he has to get is 48%, and he has to pass. Nothing will get in the way to reach his goal. Ashton is going to pass because he is studying hard and work hard. His own confidence never left him even through the worse challenges he faces. He's ready to fight for what he believes.

Day and night, Ashton never left his dorm. The only time he ever left was to get a few snacks and 2 cups of coffee. Other than that, he kept on studying his notes and researched some things that he hasn't learned but might be on the exam. Seth needs help on studying since he's been getting high "C's" on his quizzes, so then he decided to ask Ashton to help him study. Seth knocks on his door. Ashton takes a sip of coffee, walks to the door, and answers. Seth clears his throat "Hey is this a bad time for you?" "Umm... he looks back at his bed and back to Seth No not at all. Do you need help studying?" "Yes please dude. I really want to get a high score." Ashton smiles politely "Well come in." "Thanks!" Seth says happily and walks inside Ashton's dorm. "What do you need to review on?" Ashton asks wondering. "About everything.." Seth nervously chuckles. Ashton sighs "You came to the right place because I will not stop reviewing until you understand everything." "Oh that's fine with me." The two of them sits on Ashton's bed and review all their notes to study.
