Chapter 7 - I Owe You

The alarm clock bursted in Ashton's ear drums and he snoozed it quicky. Nervous was what he felt and he was going to take the challenge to overcome that. He ran around the room getting ready for the day and his morning whether it was a good one or bad one, he was prepared to face his day. As soon as he finished he routine, he stormed out the room, and locked the door. He looked around looking if anyone is awake and since the hallways are clear, he rushed down the stairs to get to the luncheon room. It was empty but he remembered a certain someone stated that they arrive early to get breakfast. He waited outside of the luncheon room and looked around if anyone is coming.

Gretel taps his shoulder giggling "Wow you're here early." He turns to her "Hi, have you seen Anamaria?" he asks nervous. She crosses arms infront of her chest and looks up at him "No but I know she's mad at you. She's on her way here, she's getting ready." "And what? Show up with Maximus?" he says sarcastically. "Hey you were the one that forced her to not be with Maximus for one night." "And what is the problem with that?" "Are you kidding me? she scoffs. Isn't it obvious? He looks at her clueless. Ana likes him." "Oh that's right! But what's more important is I care about her grades and I am not going to let a cute boy whiplash her mind." "You think he's cute?" Gretel says as a joke but chuckles.

"You know what I mean! Anyways, I just want her to be happy." Gretel softens his shoulder. "She is happy! You're just under a lot of stress. I get that you're looking out for her but you shouldn't worry. Because, I have your back." She smiles thoughtfully. "Thanks Gretel." "Sure thing but umm..you do owe her an explaination." Ashton notices Anamaria walking towards this way alone. When she gets to them, she stops walking looking at Ashton annoyed, and asks "What is he doing here?" with an unenthusiastic voice. Gretel chuckles "Well you should ask him since he's your brother."

"Ana... she glances at him annoyed but listened I woke up early to get all the way to you to apologize." She sighs stressed out "I'm listening." "I'm sorry that I got you upset when I forced you to go to your dorm to go study while you were spending time with Maximus. I just want you to pass your class inorder for you to graduate and come back home. Plus I am just looking out for you because I don't want him to whiplash your mind. Please forgive me." He looks at his sister with concerned eyes. "Do you really think he can whiplash my mind?" "Yes he can but I won't let that happen." Anamaria smiles at her brother Ofcourse I forgive you. I'm sorry too." He smiles back and they both hug each other. "Don't blame yourself. It's okay." "I'm lucky to have my brother looking out for me. Thank you." Ashton nods smiling "It's my duty."

"Since everyone made up and is happy, lets go inside and eat." says Gretel. Ashton puts his arm around Anamaria and they all walk inside the luncheon room. A waitress leads them to a table and they sit down. "I love going here in the morning. It's peaceful and there's less noise." Anamaria says as she looks around. "You betcha. So I am going to get something to drink. Do you guys want coffee or juice? I choose coffee. What do you guys choose?" asks Gretel. "I think coffee would be great because we do need to be alert for our quiz today." Anamaria says agreeing. "Coffee would be great. I agree with you both." Ashton smiles as he says that to both of them. "Great! I will be right back." Gretel gets up to go get 3 cups of coffee for them.

"Okay so I am going to ask you something and I want you to be completely honest with me." Anamaria says it while looking at Ashton serious. "Ask me." Ashton's heart was beating fast since he had no idea what Anamaria would ask. "How come you dislike Maximus?" Ashton gulped when he asked and looked at her serious. He takes a deep breath before answering "I heard he attracts a lot of girls here and even though he never got introuble and has good grades, I don't want him to play you and you end up getting hurt." Anamaria nods and he waited what she would say next. "Now I know why you have been worried. Let me tell you something. Yes that is true but he never had a relationship. Not even 1. Him and I known each other for 8 years and I am his first crush. And also..he is my first crush as well. I appreciate you're looking out for me, but ever since I left our family, he's been the reason why I smile... he makes me happy Ashton." Ashton gulps looking at her thinking about what she said. Gretel returns with the cup of coffee. "Thanks Gretel." Anamaria smiles as she gets one. "Oh thank you Gretel." Ashton gets one, takes a sip, and smiles back at his sister while thinking.

Time went by quickly. Within a blink, Ashton was already in class. Professor Prestridge clears his throat "Class I hope you all studied because I did not forget we had a quiz today." The whole class groans as he starts passing out the quiz to everyone. Everyone passes the quiz back to the last person in the row and get their pens ready. "There are 3 questions that are not multiple and are 5 points. Please answer the best you can. You have the entire class to complete your quiz." Professor Prestridge glances around to see if everyone is ready. "You may begin." he says. Everyone flips their quiz over and begin taking the quiz. Ashton looks at all the questions and smiles slightly "Hmm, I guess it wasn't really anything to worry about. This quiz is easy." He starts writing in the answers and feel good about himself that he knows it all. Clock was ticking making the quality class time boring. Ashton looks at Maximus concentrating on his quiz and he sighs. Maximus was the third person to finish his quiz while Ashton was reviewing if he got everything right and answered. He flips his quiz over and puts his pen down to take a break.

During quiz time and after everyone ate lunch, Professor Prestridge decided to go to the next lesson and teach. As usual, everyone takes notes and jot down important ideas. "Class as you noticed this whole chapter is based on nature because nature is everyone's friend. Without nature, we wouldn't be able to live. Professor Prestridge tells the class to answer questions in the book while he grades the quiz. Everyone looks back at the lesson to answer the question and Professor finished grading everyone's quiz. There was only 5 minutes left of classtime so he might as well tell everyone what grade the got. I have finished grading the quiz. Please do not complain to me about the grade you got because you got what you got, it is final, and you just have to accept it." "Yes professor." Everyone answers.

Beatrix crosses her fingers hoping she got a good grade. "Beatrix you got an "A", Dante you got an "A", Gretel nice work you got a "B", she shrugs and nods knowing she tried her best Anamaria excellent work you got an "A", Maximus you got an "A", Seth nice try but you got a "C" but it is high Seth sighs and shrugs because he tried his best and Ashton congradulations for the first few days being in my class you received an "A"." The class claps and cheers for him, especially Anamaria. Ashton smiles feeling proud of himself while Maximus just looks at him a little jealous. The bell rings and everyone leaves. Dante goes to him "Congratualtions Ash, nice job." "Thanks Dante." They both fist pump. "Heeey that's my man! Seth chuckles as he says to him and he pats Ashton's shoulder. Good job dude." Ashton pats him back "Thank you Seth and if you need help on studying, let me know alright?" "Sure." Seth nods and walks away. Ashton runs up to Maximus.

"Hey Maximus wait up!" Ashton says as he runs to him and gets infront of him. "What do you want Ash?" Maximus asks sarcastic. "Listen I just want to apologize about what I said to you the other day. I'm being honest. I really am sorry. You know I just worry about her and that is all. Been getting lonely in my dorm, what do you think about moving back in?" Ashton asks smirking. Maximus scoffs, nods, and smirks. "Apology accepted. They shake hands. I will move back in after dinner alright?" "Great!" Ashton says relieved. Maximus gives his shoulder a light squeeze "See ya." "Yeah, see ya." Two days of staying mad at Ashton, he couldn't feel more relieved than ever. It would be his resting and celebrating day. He did just pass his first quiz!!
